SMS Function

Hi,
I've been wondering if the game couldnt use a SMS function. How it works : you pay a small fee, that will buy you 5 or 10 sms's. Once your account gets hit, any attack, or planet being attacked, the system sends you an SMS and you can log into the game and retalliate or get back what has been stolen from you.
It does happen that nothing happens to your account when you're logged in, but once you go off, you get hit, and this way you can be kept up to date.
Maybe you can set this under your preferences?
Just a thought, please let me know what you think.
K.

you could easily limit this by saying not send more than 1 sms per hour or more, configurable by the user himself

I like the idea but it should never happen because when your logged out thats your time for real life. If we could get text sent to our mobile phones you would soon get sick and tired of recieving alerts and if your in a war your battery would end up going dead lol

I can just imagine someone in a movie, or a meeting, and getting a message, yelling "ohh **Filtered** im getting massed!" and running out of the room

The only way this would work would be as follows.
1-Multiple attacks by one person dont get sent as such, that or delay the SMS 30 seconds, if 5 attacks occur in that period from one person, it sends the SMS with a mass topic, otherwise just a standard attack warning
2- It only sends more than one message if the defense reaches 0 wile the person is not logged in. In such a case, it'd say 'def massed', and once again it'd wait a bit (3 mins) after the def dies, and then reports the number of spies that were lost.
3- Have options on how responsive it is (mass only, or farming too)

so you had a prophetic dream and awoke to repair your defense before it was gone and then they quit massing?
heres an idea, never sleep, never eat, never leave your house, never even leave your computer, just stay logged in sgw 24 hours a day
...(minus the 3hour logout thing however long it is)
i dont like this idea, cause it wouldnt help me out any...

perhaps a message only gets sent if the account gets hit a certain number of times in a short period. but then again this would take some work to implement and what if you are on? imagine 1000's of sms going out to ppl online

I agree this idea's just going too far. People need to learn to let go of what happens when they're not signed in. LIVE LIFE. I don't know why I'm saying this atm, cos quite frankly this week has been really, really crap and I'd have been happy with any SMS.... but still.... bad idea.
