I am unfair?

Well recently had a chat with some guy who thought my protection policy for my officers was unfair. He accused me being unfair, not caring about anyone, being a bully, and lots of other stuff.

Here is my protection policy for my officers:

1. You mass my officer, I mass you.
2. You steal a planet from my officer and I either mass you or make you pay for it or give it back.
3. You hit my officer more than 3 times and I mass you or make you stop, any hits after that are automatic massable.

I will hear their side though. I always give soimeone 1 day to explain themselves after I send them a message after they broke one of my protection policys. Or I'll look in my officer's logs to see if they provoked it. I will give that to them. But after 24 hours, I mass.
To me, that seems fair, but I'd like to see what the community thinks.

Well it kinda depends, doesn`t it...

If your officer got massed cos he got it comming, then no. If he lost a planet to a guy he stole it from in the first place again no. If he gets hit more than 3 times over a prolonguued period of time and and he never tries to comunicate with the guy and neither do you I`d say again no.

Yep, you have all the rights to mass Jedi. :P
But you should also try to hear the other part before, because they might be innocent.

Honestly, Im sick and tired of people whining about things being "fair" or not. If it's within the parameters of the game (in other words: not cheating) then it's fair. It may not be particularly sporting, or respectful, but then neither is the constant moaning that goes on around here.

Learning how to avoid massing or take one when it's given is part of the game. People need to learn to deal with it.

Also accurate.

In the past, Ive not fully backed an officer when hes earned a hit, that said Ive also backed officers too.

One such incident lead to the bromus colelctive / Imperial war, multiple imperial members were farming and planet theiving from an officer of mine on bromus, so I went and MS massed a few imperial members, PMs were exchanged, next day another imperial was in same officers logs.

Dude got massed and ACd (and lost like half his army in spies), tried massing me back (did little but kill his supers) then the dude untrained his spies, so 5spy sabs began.

And shortly after that, my officers alliance decided to join in ...........

Oops, forgot to put that in the first part. I always give soimeone 1 day to explain themselves after I send them a message. Or I'll look in my officer's logs to see if they provoked it. I will give that to them. But after 24 hours, I mass.

You are JediMasterX, formerly of the First Realm. How dare you question yourself! :)

Ah well... I think that as long as you give people a fair chance to explain themselves, you can do whatever you promise to do.
Notice that I don't use the word 'threaten'. I dislike that word. It suggests saying you'll do something to someone and then decide *not* to do it. I like to keep my word. When I say I'll mass you (which I don't) I'll mass you. When I am being farmed by a youngling who has only just hatched from his game-egg, I will kindly inform him/her of the undesirability of his behaviour and tell him that if this behaviour is not explained or discontinued within 48 hours (slightly more lenient than you, maybe?), repercussions will follow. Since I know it is no fun for a new player to be massed, I will simply take the naq he makes at all turn changes I can for a day. :) Then, I'll tell him to learn his lesson, and leave him alone. Works for me.

I think you're quite fair, Jedi. It's just your name... people fear you and fear that you might throw a tantrum. No offense intended, I try to observe this. :) Heh, I don't think I was of any help anyways. :(

Depends on whole situation, how it started, etc. Also if you do not ask someone to stop farming you, noone won't unless u build bigger def...it's like loving someone and not telling him/her, s/he can't know if you are keeping this a secret and didn't tell it to no one...if person doesn't stop farming you after you asked, it's fair to mass. If person hitted 3 times without your officer asking him to stop, it's unfair...

Now during football season I go on a massing spree after losing a game, I will say that. For the unlucky few who appeared in my logs last year after a bad game, they know what happened. It probably wasn't nice for me to mass them and their alliance for one hit on me on a bad night, but oh well. :D

I never mass for a reason at least. I always have a reason. For the people who mass without reasons then I pity them. Shows that they really have nothing to do in their lives.

Whats fun is if you send a 'stop farming my officer' message, pereson is rude in reply, then you wipe 3/4 of their account out, and they start spamming calling you a cheater.

I Miss noobs like that

if your officer has either no defence or never banks and leaves too much naq out then i disagree with your 3 hit policy an officer has to make an effort themselves and defence is as ALL should know the way to not be farmed not a larger CO with attack turns to spare and the same goes for learning how much you can hold in the open for your amount of defence.

apart from that your policies sound of a defencive nature and cant be called unfair.
