Bring Pungemo Back

Perhaps you could tell me what rule that breaks?

When you were banned it was because you were breaking the forum rules. Some people thought it was funny to cause a riot on the forums. They were warned not to support banned users and demand their bans to be lifted as it clearly states you are disrespecting the forum rules and the moderators decisions by supporting banned users.

Do you really want to discuss this again? It's an old story and it is pretty obvious why we do not allow actions like that.

Oooh I'd most certainly like to discuss it again, but I somehow suspect that I wouldn't be allowed. So, if I demanded that the users who were banned for having such a signature, which I don't see a single problem with, be unbanned, then would you ban me?

Anyone familiar with Babylon 5?

During the course of season 3, a strictly totalitarian regime is installed slowly on Earth. Of course, it all comes crashing down, since people notice, complain and start to riot. It's really nothing serious... except when you begin to notice the similarities to *another* regime. :) Then suddenly it gets ugly. Sad story...

Why do I have the feeling the mods are RP-ing this whole thing... replaying events from the past? :-)
Amusing.

None of the users who were banned for supporting you in their signatures were permanently banned. You weren't permanently banned either.

You can discuss anything you like, but I'd recommend to go the right way and contact a forum admin privately with requests like that. And I promise you, nobody will ever get banned for asking a forum admin politely why someone was banned and if their was a chance to lift the ban.

Topics like this here just have never served any purpose in teh past... they only ever end up in flaming and mod bashing... let's see where this one ends ;)

If I recall correctly a fellow by the name of deathguard was banned by Shaitan for asking politely  In addition, most of the polite requests were just deleted. I also personally asked teal'auc politely, her response was to call me a jerk and block me. Perhaps I'm missing where the due process was supposed to work? :?

Eh, Geisha? Not to be rude or criticising or anything, but that statement of yours:
geisha wrote:And I promise you, nobody will ever get banned for asking a forum admin politely why someone was banned and if their was a chance to lift the ban.

Is that retroactive? I mean, I read the PM you got from a banned member, and as far as I could tell it was quite polite... while I will not pretend to comprehend all your reasons for your reaction to that PM, from what I know there was no real reason to be so angry? Of course you do have your reasons, I assume. It's just that since no one got to see those reasons, it's made me curious. :) Why would an otherwise perfectly reasonable moderator suddenly use ... colourful words ... to get through to a user sending a polite PM? Maybe because you're no administrator, so your promise doesn't go for moderators? If that's the case, what good is it, I wonder.

I'm a little uncertain... I think someone who is now permabanned was banned earlier for no apparent reason, and then banned even LONGER for asking what the reasons were... :? So I'd like to know when that promise of yours got active. :) I mean... it's a perfectly natural promise, but things haven't really been going that way, have they? Or am I completely wrong?

Again... I mean no offense nor criticism, I'm just a curious person. :)

Theres a slight difference , this is the real world, not a tv program, We control the forum, we run the forum, you can use the forum to post if you want to, We're not stopping you, but there are rules, if you do not abide by the rules then you will be punished, thats the way it is.

We are not monsters, we are mods, and if banning one of you makes our lives easier then we will do it, hence the banning of tokra. If you want to cause a problem then we will simply ban you as well.

Now perhaps you would like to post about sgws, Or spam in the spam section, thats what this forum is for, this forum is not for disputeing decisions made by mods and admins. mailto:Admin@Stargatewars.com is the place to go for that.

Of course if we ban you there is reason to ban you, and jason has said many times he backs us AND appreciates us 100%, something very few of you seem to do these days, and that makes some of us quite frustrated, so im of the opinion we all leave and let the forum go to hell, but hey, thats my opinion

Well that story was months ago, so why did you pull it out just now?

Tok'ra was not banned for asking me questions via PM. If you want to know the reasons for his ban, have a look at the forum thread of shame in the announcement section.

As to why my reply to him was rude: Yes I did have my reasons and I doubt I have to make a public statement about why I am not being polite to someone in a pm who's only goal is to cause trouble on the forums, who has been breaking just about every forum rule we have ever had and who has been telling me on msn before that I am more full of **Filtered** than Robe (Sorry Robe, just quoting Tok'ra here) just because he didn't like my decisions as a mod.

Something I read that struck me as somewhat hypocritical. I mean, there are several members STILL banned for having a "bring back pungemo" sig, which is not in violation of any rules.

Because bazsy, they want attension, they want to cause trouble and most of all they want to make our lives hell :)

Buck, I DO appreciate the hard work the moderators do and all. :)
It isn't my place to criticize, which I try to avoid doing at quite a cost.

I do not want to cause a problem, I'm just asking a polite question, and yeah, maybe the comparison with B5 is out of line, I could have used a real world example you'd have liked less. :-)
I'm all for drastic measures against derailing, spam, and other unwanted stuff.

This is too tiresome. I'm going back to what I was doing in the first place.
