stop spamming here

it is very interesting Patrick. I had a conversation recently about the oldest religion...now to use this as proof.

Spacey it depends who you are debating if you are talking about the oldest religion because a Jew/Christian would say that their religion goes back to the dawn of time (6-15k years ago). The oldest religion would have to be either some form of Hinduism or Egyptian stuff. Neat map.

Well, there are older religions than Hinduism but no one still practices them. So for all purposes Hinduism is the oldest. Not many people know this, but if you read some of C.S. Lewis' books he says that he came close to converting from Atheism to Hinduism.

Hinduism is not the oldest religion....The cults of the various sun gods stretch back as far as human existance.

A form of devil worship will be the oldest religion (or cults as osiris said above) simply because there are always those who believe that 'god or 'gods' are actually evil and the creature which the masses believe to be evil good etc.

FYI satanism is not the worship of the devil ;)

C.S. Lewis gives me love/hate reactions. On one hand he was an intelligent man, and an amazing author. On the downside he left atheism and spent his life attacking it. Basically everytime I get in a debate about God they use his arguments. At his peak Lewis was the best debater in the world, and a professor at Oxford. I respect him, but he is still one of my enemies. I refer to him as if he were still alive because his works still haunt me today! I have about 15 of his books on my shelves.
