Conquering a planet

Well, I'm pretty new to main though I've been around on chaos since the start of the wave. I was just wondering how conquering planets works.

I know that it's the attack force of my mothership that matters but is it pitted against solely the defense of the planet. Or the planet + the defense of my enemy. Or is their mothership involved? I've read that it takes 12 hours for a planet to benefit from any PPT I get and I've read the rules but I haven't really been able to get anything solid on how defending the planet works.

Cheers.

pretty much the only 2 things you need to look at are your fleet strength and the planets defense.

if you have enough fleets, you're able to attack the planet multiple times to mass down it's defense.

Aye, but do be carefull - unless you are fairly close to the targets power, you stand a good chance of loosing all your fleets (though you keep your launch-bays/hangars).

Been there as well :P
