Because you moved into a different plane if you are in purgatory:

If you are not in purgatory then I do not know what is wrong.

Yeah I can't attack anyone either, best guess is that something got moved around during the update...hopefully they will find and fix it soon, I'm watching my farms build up more and more naq and am starting to drool

i tried to attack a farm and i couldnt hit them so when everyone builds up a few bil naq ill probably be asleep by then and cant farm them :'( asuming admin can fix this 'bug' in just a few hours....

Yeah, origanally I figured it would be maybe 2 hours max, but now it seems it will be fixed (like most bugs) in the middle of the night here - say, 4 or 5 am. D'oh.

Now i know it's not just me. I thought the cryptic message meant my computer had gone funny again. Well I guess we are all in purgatory, like it or not.
