Leaving alliance suggestion

I feel it has to come here, I think in war there shouldn't be NOT ANY WAY to leave alliance hehehe...leaving alliance button blocked!

But in rest of time, when you leave, you are like pended: you need alliance leader or second to validate (or NOT :sge) your departure :) .
Also, when you ascend, you stay in your alliance hehe

There is a difference between deserters and those that leave and support from the outside then return after war is done.

By forceing members to remain in an alliance till the war is over than an alliance will be more willing to seek peace if there are many who want it to end.

Right now those who like to fight stay while the income sources, stat builders etc.. can leave and wait it out.

Well indeed I forgot the quitters would then interfere with the war if they stay

I agree. It would be forcing someone to do something they don't want to.

When not all the people in the alliance want a war, and the majority agree that those members should not be involved, they should be dismissed before the war starts, really... right?

Then is it really an alliance?

An alliance should fight or surrender together. By allowing those that dont want to fight to leave it allows the rest to continue fighting forever.

If those that dont want to fight have a say with their mates than the whole alliance is more likely to avoid wars.

This not a place for tree huggers
This is not StargateStatBuliding or StargatePeace
hehehe
So those who want to leave not allowed to comeback unless if they have RL issues :D

but what you are arguing is an internal issue, I would counter that the alliance should have made sure everyone was ready for a long drawn out war

I agree with Spacey. If the alliance members do not have the mentality to go to war, the 'no regrets'-attitude, the alliance leadership should either avoid war at all costs, *or* attempt to bring about a change in attitude in their members. :)

An alliance's course is set by their members, by their attitude and by the flexibility of their leadership. One needs certain... qualities... to go to war, and not everyone has them. It is a legitimate question what in the blazes a statbuilder is doing in a generally warlike alliance.

Strength through Unity, Unity through ... attitude? :)

I say no changes in the 'leaving' protocols. It is, as said, an internal matter, way beyond the game code, and straight into the Players' Code. ;)

What about some sort of contracts?

Each member can renew their contracts with their alliance leader when its close to the end of the contract. They can also have the choice to choose how long the contract is.

BUT

They can also buy out their contract if they wish to leave the alliance before war or for whatever reason they wish to leave their current alliance or just wait until their contract ends with their alliance. The naq they use to buy out their contract could then go into the alliance bank (I think this is an idea being discussed? am I right? :? ) I'm not sure how much naq you'd need to buy out your contract as it depends on length of contract and I've only just thought this up!!!

So to sum it up, it costs nothing to have a contract and to renew it, but if you wish to leave the alliance before the contract ends, the naq you'd give to the alliance that your buying out your contract with goes to the alliance bank (IF that idea comes into the game also)
