I've been here a long time, and I, as well as many others, remember back in the days, when nearly every race would have RPing of some sort on their racial boards.

What I am asking here, is mainly directed at the newer players.
Do you not roleplay because you don't know how to play your character, or rather think it's stupid/ too embarrassed that you may sound stupid?

I'm asking because in the past quarter of a year, the roleplaying on the boards, ANY board, has died down to all but an abyss.
I'd like to get some of your responses on this.

I've been trying to get a Roleplaying section on these boards. You can RP with other characters, make up your own armies, kingdoms, alliances or fight real one. You can fight battles you'd only dream of. I dunno how many people would be interested, but I for one would be interested and would definetly help set one up. I Roleplay at a few other sites.

Race pride died when all of the ascended races became the same.

Nope because I think its a bit sad.

I enjoyed some role playing from back in the day.

Most of them were Goa'uld and made for an interesting read but since the loss of Esker and Saz that has pretty much left.

The RPing on the forums was one of the things that made me actually start to use the forum because I spoke, acted and did things as my character.

Plus I think that some of it moved from the forum to the Chat when that came along.

i dont roleplay cause i dont feel like it.

RPing is fun. Especially when it could be an evil force against a good force and the evil side wins

I did some role playing today, some took it as a joke and continued role playing... some took it seriously and came to me on MSN asking weird questions.

Basically I don't give a damn - You will no doubt see many weird & disturbing role playing from me in the future. I have a weird sense of humor and proud of it lol.

And no, sound stupid? Who cares what other people think of you.

Strangely enough we had something like that in the Temple, a few days ago anyways, and it went on between 3 of us back and for a couple of days, until of course it got spamed out and buried

Yeah, I saw it, but knew it'd be spammed to hell or gone off that front page in a few hours. I'm talking about a section that all you do is roleplay.

well it'd be interesting to say nothing else, if it didn't get spamed or end up getting to crazy.
If you get one going i'd likely make it my second home,

I used to love the role-play;
Mocking the snake-heads, the asgaurd, and tauri for their covert - building MS's out of legos... the inane (but humorously stupid) 'Dark X' groups (Dark asgaurd, Dark Tauri etc.).



As pointed out of course, the game has changed - both in terms of the players and mechanics. It'd be hard to get things back to even a semblance of the RP - far to much metagaming is neccesary for stats, and it's stats that most care about. (Not saying i'm not one of them, just that I don't place my account power as my top priority.)

Give me a week and I'll make a SGW Roleplay forum if I can't get a section going on here.
