If an account has zero defence.
Not a single defencive weapon.
Not a single defencive troop.
Is it not fair to expect that it will get hit? (And not just hit, but hit frequently if it has high naq production)

Because for some reason, Ramster2 (ingame, don't know his forum ID) threatens everyone that hits him with massing. In addition, he's not going with a warning system. Just every player that ever hit him goes on the list without warning.
Surely it would be logical if this account was being used PROPERLY, that they would start building a defence by now? Or even at least the standard 24/24/24 troops you see on other dead accounts?

Surely a prior with 6.9million miners/lifers and UP of 25k could have started building a defence!

Is this guy being a bit of a nut by threatening everyone that hits him with massing when he's cultivating over 900mil per turn with no defence (not just none to speak of)?

Um, no def means no AC protection. No AC protection means possible detrimental effects to covert. Severely decreased covert means easy sabs. Easy sabs mean possible detrimental effects to attack.

I mean, if he's leaving himself open like that and then threatens you, why not beat him to the punch...

If you don`t have a defence, you don`t have to expect to keep your income, you shouldn`t expect to have a good covert and you shouldn`t expect having an attack in case you decide to war with someone.


If i`d be you, Evil_Matt i won`t even be bothered about him... he threatened you? then destroy everything he has: MS, covert, attack... you can even go on his ascention... there are plenty of ways to protect against such characters.

Too bad I just went on PPT. I've got turns to burn and this guy we're talking about sounds like easy pickings and a good raid farm in the future

He's likely to bring in friends to do the attacking since he has barely any capability to do so.
His complete lack of anything to hit if I were to try to beat him to the punch really baffles me.

Yep. No one has an impregnable defence.

I'm not ascended. I can't get up there to hit him. Really all I want is for this nutcase to leave me alone.
Perhaps if some bigger fish were to hit him, or more likely his commander and the friends his planet names speak of, he might be a little more likely to shut up leave me alone. I apologised once he sent his first message, if he still wants to mass me after that he's really not a smart cookie.
You have to give people one official warning before you can legitimately threaten with these sorts of things, apart from all of the logical stuff previously mentioned.

Uh... anyone who has friends that can be used as threats are probably too big for me.
I've only been playing for a few weeks. 20bil defence will go like *clicks* that.

There are more types of defence than the obvious.

Sometimes, the threat of retaliation is a better defence than a physical one.

After all, that's what the entire western world does with the nuclear deterent: "If you attack us, we'll nuke you."

So yeah, there is more than one type of defence.

In this case however, he has no "nuclear deterent" as he has no physical attack as well as no physical defence.

Surely you can't wait til someone hits you and then smash them, you must give SOME warning unless you're just LOOKING for an excuse.

I was too busy plunking in Ramster2's name into the attack page and stealing his naq to think that he might have a commander,
let alone one in Dark Dominium... OOPS!!


I just figured he had a giant strike or covert or something... and when i spied him and found none, i just thought this Ramster2 guy to be off his rocker.

LOL, oh well. his CO will certainly find this thread.
Plus he'll know where to find me.
If his CO has a problem with my 900 mil naq hit or that I added him to my farm list by declaring war on Ramster2, I'll be more than happy to talk to the commander.
Ramster2, on the other hand, has no alliance, and doesn't even have a strike big enough to scare mice away... i wouldn't worry about him...

and it sounds like Ramster2 won't even have planets in a few hours.

Funny thing, I just PMed his CO about another matter. Be interesting to see his reaction. Personally, the only reason I can see keeping this guy is A) his UP and B) he might be a RL friend.
