Congratulations. I hope your little one brings as much joy to you as mine does to me. Some things to remember when dealing with a newborn:

1. They have amazing accuracy and range with spit up. Do NOT underestimate the power of the nasty stuff.
2. Baby radar is active at all times. This means you and your wife...well no more mommy/daddy time for a while.
3. Sometimes they have to cry. Don't rush to pick them up all the time or shush them. It will only aggravate you and will make them think they have room service.
4. Always feed them before going to the restaurant. Once they get there they won't want to eat. They will want to look around. And will keep crying until you have them up where then can see all that they want to see.
5. If crying do these checks..then leave them cry: 1/Wet or dirty 2/in fear 3/cold or warm 4/hungry 5/can't reach the toy. If you think they are ok and it's time for them to be sleeping repeat number 3 above.
6. Sleep whenever you can. It might be the last time for a long time.

There. That's the stuff I wish I had known the first 3 weeks of parenthood. Hope something in there helps you when you are this close to snapping.
