Alliance power

My friend made an alliance yesterday, you can see it in the request people to join section, and we now have 5 members. (Called consortium) However, the alliance has no power, so I was wondering, why?

alliance leader doesn't count towards the 5 members...
so you need 6 to be ranked

Yup. Just one of many cases in this game where you will find X is actually X+1.
Get six and you will be ranked.

Bar something strange, 6 members gets you ranked... now what keeps you ranked... idk: possibly vac mode, or deletion in the case of the 2 member alliance.
