Suggestions on increased Ascension-Main linkage

We all know that ascensions is underplayed, which really is a big shame, as it has the potential to be the best of all the servers. (If only income planets weren't raidable!)

Anyway, this isn't about raiding...I'm just gonna chuck out a few ideas of making the links between main and ascended stronger, both to encourage greater activity on ascension and because it just makes sense for the two servers to be more related.

Think of this as a bit of a brainstorming session, I'll chuck out ideas, you can comment on them, chuck out ideas of your own, and so on.

What has been suggested in the past is some sort of life-force to main resources converter. While this would be interesting, it has the possibility of being abused, and the conversion rate would never work.

If you had a relatively low conversion rate, the stronger players in ascension would be able to create trillions of main naq for themselves which would give them too much of an advantage. However, if you countered this with a relatively steep conversion rate, then it would become pointless for the smaller players to use.

So, what I propose is a way to link the two servers without involving resources. Instead of just converting life force to naq, I propose some sort of system where life force can be converted to tempory bonuses in main. This makes sense, as it seems to me that if I were an ascended being, I would want to come down and help my realm back in the mortal world by aiding it with my powers. So this is a kind of more advanced, flexible and customisable ascended blessing, that costs life force on ascended to use.

The life-force costs would have to be proportions of daily LF income, or max life force, as if you simply used absolute values then again big players have too much of an advantage, and small players have to little of an advantage. However, larger players still have an advantage over smaller players, as they can use the DMU --> LF converter on ascension to use their DMU income to boost their LF count, whereas a smaller player can do this to a lesser extent.

The bonus to main would be in the form of a 5% bonus to a stat of your choice.

Lets create an example.

I have a max life force of about 33,000. I then buy, with 33,000LF, a tempory one-day bonus for myself in main, for example a 5% boost to a stat of my choice (strike, defence, covert, anti-covert, income).

What do you think?

Some things to think about:

- How many times would you be able to use this a day? Would there be a limit? Or could you just keep doing it, so long as you had the LF? My suggestion would be that you could do it a max of one time per stat per day.

- Exact conversion ratios. Is 5% too much? Or too little? Should max LF be used, or daily LF income? Should it be all of your max/daily LF income (like in my example) or just a proportion of it (e.g. if my max is 30k, the bonus might cost something like, 50% of this or whatever % you chose)?

not to bad an idea. but instead of it costing a percentage why not have it drain all your alf and reduce your LF gain for the time it is active. i think that will help prevent the larger players from doing it to often as their accounts will be easier to deascend.

You think that taking our life force will make us easier to descend? You'll have to get past my defense first. That's no small feet. And then after that, what keeps me from putting my income into LF? One turn of my income will put me far over my max, above 10 times my max.
