The Galactic Colosseum

We all go there to see what wars are going on, but don't you notice that the smaller alliance/people get lost in all the big alliance/people stuff.

There must be loads of smaller alliance wars going on, it is just as big to them as it would be to the bigger ones. The loses are % wise just the same so why can't we work out away where they can have their own Galactic Colosseum or if someone can come up with another option.

It may also get the smaller alliances/people using the forums & bring forward another generation of forum greats.

just an

Thats true, I was looking through a small alliance's forum and sure enough just as we may have things like "this guy hit me for 100bill" or "I took out his 250bill defence and 1.5mill spies" they have "zomg he took out my 3bill defence" which I did find a little chucklesome, but still, they have alliance wars that as STI said are just as big to them, why should they get drowned out?

Deja Vu?
I do believe I recall a similar thread, albeit it did not propose a similar solution. It was at a time when the attitude of the forum was against the Coliseum (or was it before the Coliseum’s inception? <_<) being used for individual or small wars - anyway:

As it stands, I don't believe the lack of smaller-player/alliance participation is due to forum subsection, or as was the case back then, anti-small conflict sentiment - but to the fact that most new alliances simply don't bother/have never bothered posting.

This is due to the fact that most new players don't even register - or if they do, it is to use the market, spam temple, newbie section, or suggestion section .
They do not normally think as part of a community, and so it doesn't really occur to them that when their three RL mates go at it against some cyberspace enemies - there is a whole community that might be interested in their exploits: They keep it to themselves.
I don't know if a subsection would change that detachment.
--------------

Eh, all that said: with the new Phbb3, an additional subsection would not be messy - and it'd be worth a shot.

Chucklesome? Is it cause you still haven't massed a 3bil def? :P

No, chucklesome because It has been so long since a 3bill defence was worth massing, or since having a defence that large taken away botherd me, infact it has never botherd me, cause they have always been bigger :-D

I agree that it is a good idea, especially to encourage newer players to participate a bit more.

The problem as I see it is that forums do have a reputation that if you say the wrong thing to the wrong person (and at times who knows what that may/may not be) you wake the next morning to find your whole account massed to the ground so a lot of players simply avoid this and only sign in at best to trade goods etc aoiding the rest of the forums at all costs.

It's not a case of whether it does or does not happen, it is a case of perceptions that may also need to be addressed.

i dont think we need 2 galactic Colosseum

i mean this is a community lets not alienate them because there are small, just doesn't feel right for me anyways

I agree with you, it is a good idea that people should pay more attention to the newer players, however, to make a new GC for them is kinda pushing them further into the background anyway.

i always remember where we all began, we began as noobs i know that everyone grew at the same pace and there was no one "super big" telling us we should get our own thread and stuff, lets give them the same courtesy when we were noobs

Maybe its because big people with sooooooo much time in their hands just spam it up by mocking their accomplishments in their war, I mean i see posts like ''looooool you took out a 3bil defense? thats nothing Noob, I took out a 100bil def once in 3 mins hahaha'' or ''you took 30k spies out, I took millions in my war''

I think the problem isnt the forum, but the community, each time an unknown little guy posts about their accomplishments, they get shot down by these so called ''big shots'' who thinks their all that just because they did better.

Just my views of things
