I mean think about this. In SGW, in real life, why is people are always dumb enough to pick a fight with the largest guy in the room? I'm certainly not that much of a hardnut these days, as when I reached 30 I pretty much stopped giving the toss, but still - I could be out for a quiet pint, and because I'm there and someonne's in the mood for a fight, invariably they try picking on with me.

I've noticed the same psychology in SGW - you have a character like...let's use jake as an example; why do people feel the need to essentially commit suicide by going up against a person they know said person has one of the meatiest Ms' in the game?

Jake is master class at winding people up without even putting any effort into it, so I think you can put him to one side for a moment. *be seated Jake* As for the 'going for the big guy' mentality, I would argue that it's not as prevailant in real life until alcohol is concerned. I expect that most people with the mindset to cause trouble in SGW would invariably pick the meatiest target to cause most damage and/or contraversy, AND of course, because they can get away with it without a real life hiding.

Either way, those sorts of people are stupid, unless they know exactly what they're doing. *cue massing of Jake*.

you double posted there diamond. And yeah, I suppose to a degree this is true, but I find that most people with a propensity for violence pick the largest target anyway, which strikes me as a little...stupid?

maybe it is a try of a "revolution" of the lil´guys? .... its instinct wanting freedom peace blabla and few ppl also fight for that. in RL a revolusion of many ppl against a few "big ppl" can be actually successful, but in sgw it isn´t ....

exactly. so why do it?

They do it so they can say that they stood up to someone much larger than themselves. Also since this is a computer game they could stand up to a larger person and not have to worry about getting beat up, or killed.

Wait, you're whining about being attacked by people that can't beat you?

because it might break tons of guns/shields which can be a hassle to replace

I don't think he's whining, Saintdeath, I think he's just curious and asking a question.

Another reason for said attacks could be misplaced affection..

Because of the thrill....the thrill to take on a big guy, an enemy where u can fight with all u got, not just hide behind ur alliance or allies, people here talk big because ''friends'' back them up, but some people, they want to fight people who are pros, to learn from them and to prove that we are not just whinny brat who just mouths off because we know people, but that we can fight for our own.

Actually in RL, it can be different. I got in a fight with my brother when two kids started it by throwing punches. These kids were at least a quarter of an inch shorter then me, so about four and a quarter inches shorter then my brother.

Anyway, in game, i dunno usually you get sympathy. After all what is a couple billion to repli jake, chump change, but to a newbie its a fortune. When you do it, he masses you and you get sympathy from people.

There's a certain logical aspect here; there are guys bigger than me, and if I measure them and know I'll get minced, I back down

but if you have nothing to loose and don´t really care bout your account, you might fight back, right?

If im wronged, id wanna go down swinging

Atleast makes them think twice if i cause them enough damage to make hitting me not worth it
