Ok, im at the point where i can do math in my head in the hundred Ks when i buy mercs, i look at the number think a bit and usually end up 2-10 mercs from away from maxium mercs can the game do the math for me like

You can buy this many mercs or something

or just have it buy as many as you can if you go over the top
