Okay, simple question..
What's the best way to increase influence power?

Planets and charisma.

Best get your fleets up too to make the most of your charisma

Fleets dont add to influence though.

Yep yep yep

I thought it was total size/# of planets but thats not the case as I recently overtook many accounts in influence and many are larger then me so charisma plays a large role in influence power.

Thanks guys.. Now.. what's the best way to descend someone? What button do I press to inflict the most amount of damage to descend someone? I know the lower the LF the harder it is to descend someone.
I'm still learning the ways of the ascended so please forgive my ignorance.
Also, is it better to increase my Planet fleets before I increase my planet production or does it not matter either way?

well, id say mass their physical defences then stock up on LF then direct attack them untill theyve been descended...

Aff, mass physical defense first - and then dedicate yourself to slamming them hard.
It's best to launch your attack a few hours after the end of the auction, simply load up on bonus LF (should be easy to get 2 mill extra LF) and don't let up.

It is hard to get 2mil extra LF with "those two" alliances running around after auction taking everything

Its not those 2 alliances farming the entire server. Most of them are too big to care about the amounts dished out. I usually account for 20-25 hits or so and i know someone who once went through 1500 turns farming one day. (Wish i knew how to control 50 odd open windows)

As for getting kills to avoid being descended....killing someone is MORE likely to get you descended. Don't annoy anyone or any alliance bigger than you...thats the rule constantly spouted here. In any case the resources used to smack someone means that the aggressor loses a bit of growth. Considering growth is the only option now many (not all though) think twice before wasting resources on screwing with someone.

The more planets you have, the more resources you make, the easier it is to grow. Charisma will get you a better rank in the short term but like every other 'gate war' game UP is everything. Unless you ask very nicely to get hit by the super weapon.
