Just thought i would start up a forum concerning the episodes in Stargate Sg 1 Season 10 to be honest i thought the last epidode was rubbish i mean it was cool that the tauri got advanced technology but now we no that the asgards commited sucide well thats what it showed

the season was alright. it wasn't as good as the other seasons though.

p.s. shouldn't this be in the t.v. room?

yeah but i just wanted asgard or ancient opinions

Well, it's sci-fi after all. Anything can happen. Another fluke stargate accident, somebody ends up back in time, accidentally triggers a change that affects the timeline and when they get back, the Asgard are still going strong...

But to answer the question... well let's face it the show was never quite the same without Jack, which is one of the reasons the ratings were going down... and let's face it again, season 10 wasn't a "natural" death. It was killed like many other good series purely based on ratings... E-Ring anyone? Dresden Files? Firefly?

Wth happened to the two movies, btw? Haven't followed much of the news recently but I thought they were supposed to have been out by now? Tidying up the whole Ori deal, and introducing the 9th chevron...

true, Jack made the show. It was a big mistake to promote him out of sg1.

would have been interesting and a shocking twist if he died instead just before a final showdown with the ori or something.

I don't like that twist.

You know we don't know if all the Asgard died just that the planet blew up. Some could of escaped through the Stargate to another distant Galaxy via the 8th Chevron. It would be nice if SG-1 came across them again and McKay could give them the nanites and they could repair them. Then maybe they could reproduce naturally and not rely on their cloning technology. But one can only wish.

as i remember from a friend they were all deing and there was nothing they could dot to stop it so the did mass suicide so if a few went threw the stargate they would still die because they were dieing somehow i forget though like dna going bad or someting

Sort of, yet not really. I don't think they had a great deal of choice, the decision to get out was RDA's, not the studio...

I love the Atlantis episode where he's back, during the repli occupation... they gave him so many one-liners in that thing it brought back so many memories of his quirkiness throughout the sg-1 series...

Basically, the story went along the lines of they'd been copied so many times the copies were degrading in much the same way that a tape recording of a tape recording of a tape recording gets progressively less accurate... Like all sci-fi, easy to fix with a rather cliche'd time travel episode...

But the "bad clones" idea was similar to the comedy movie multiplicity...

This thread really does belong in the tv/movie/entertainment section now, doesn't it?...

yeah i think that would be amazing if they went back in time to see what it was like when the asgards were human. that would be so cool. maybe they will think of starting it up again, maybe

That is a misconception of this game.

Asgards were an entirely different race, not part of humans etc. An alien race if you like.

oh so what were they, a hybrid between human cause they sure used to look like humans
