Before this gets any further...

We must not make value statements about another culture. That is along the line of ethnocenterism. A lot of the same thing happened in the now Industralized world years ago...and frankly, it still probably happens now, but is well hidden.

I guess because of different cultures and what not, they do things differently to us and some things we do may be sick to them...

I mean, where I used to live in UK, a new restaurant opened up and within a month it was closed down... someone tipped off the police that the meat they were servin was dog meat and not what they were sayin it was... so the police went in and sure enough found a couple of alsatian's (dogs) in their freezers.

And to think i was gonna eat there with me gf at that time

1. dog meat as a dog meat. if smbdy likes it what's wrong with it? but if they give it to me saying it's beef, now that's bad!
2. i don't care if smbdy sales diamonds or anything else to buy guns. not my problem. as patrick said, if they cant be civilized, let the social darvinism work.
3. animals are out there so we could have meatsteaks, furs, feathers, leather, stuffed birds, safe cosmetics and drugs etc. but if ppl torture them just for fun that's wrong.
4. my grandfather used to cut chickens' heads off and hang the bodies on the rack to bleed.
5. will this world ever be free from animal rights activists, tree-huggers, global-worming doomsayers and other ecofreaks?

i have no problem using animals for our uses

i do have a problem with tortue though

exspecaily when they can so easliy kill the animal before skinning

but no, it s to hard to kill the animal, we'll save more money if we skin it alive , because animals feel no pain whats so ever[sarcasm]

I hate Mcdonalds. They kill over half a million chickens a week in Europe alone. They underpay, it's a terrible job (working in any part of the business) and people associated in the higher areas of it just don't care about anything but money.

I could never agree with eating dog meat. I've had a number of dogs as pets in my life and I have one at the moment. Dogs have personality and I think it's just wrong.

Diamonds.. you could say the same about liquor.. a lot of people were killed in the duration of that business and every other type of business for that matter.

If I seen someone even kicking a dog I would beat the living *mod* out of them. Same goes for any other animal. I hate how kids annoy dogs and when the dogs retaliates the dog gets blamed because children are more important

I hate any form of activists. I especially hate PETA and automatically anyone who supports it as they are hypocrites and lack a needed amount of intelligence for a little something known as "common sense".

I eat meat, I don't agree with animal torture and I know this might seem a little hypocritical but we have to eat meat (I'm sure you have seen what veggies and vegans look like  ) but it doesn't mean animals have to suffer any more than they should to meet our needs.

It's only going to get worse as the population grows.. more twisted people and less sane people. I'm just glad I'm one of the sane ones.

well, i've had a number of pet chickens (it's not a joke; 2 exactly; i was surprised myself than an ordinary chicken can be so pet-like)

Buy purchasing those diamonds we are providing demand. With demand comes supply, and therefore there is a contribution to the problem.

Just because we are "human" doesn't mean "to each their own". Where do you all think people in developing countries get their weapons?

Military expenditure in market exchange rate dollar terms, 2006 Rank Country Spending ($b.)
— World Total 1,158
1 United States 528.7
2 United Kingdom 59.2
3 France 53.1
4 People's Republic of China [49.5] estimate
5 Japan 43.7
6 Germany 37.0
7 Russia [34.7] estimate
8 Italy 29.9
9 Saudi Arabia 29.0
10 India 23.9
11 South Korea 21.9
12 Australia 13.8
13 Canada 13.5
14 Brazil 13.4
15 Spain 12.3
Note: data for Iran and Saudi Arabia include expenditure for public order and safety and might be slight overestimates.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arms_industry

We are a part of the problem by supplying weapons, and by using a product of the conflict.

What some are suggesting is similar to giving someone crack cocaine to use to rob a car, and then you buy the car off of them at a lower than normal price (relative to the legal way, with shift work, breaks, unions, etc.). Then suggesting that you have no responsibility for what they do on/with crack cocaine.

Does that make sense to anyone?
