The Ascension

Hey all, I wrote a little poem about ascension. I called it "The Ascension":
The Ascension
Of men; of mere mortals you were a king,
You had power, and conquest was your thing,
You were a warrior, you were a legend,
The strength of your will was feared to no end.
A man of war, you suddenly felt peace,
Your gaze softened to the softness of fleece,
Feeling enlightened; illuminated,
Upon all this, your soul meditated.
Wings of blinding fire lifted your soul,
Within your thoughts, you started feeling whole,
You forgot your past, you lost your present,
Acquiring all knowledge heaven sent.
Thence you awoke, like a newborn baby,
Alone, forlorn, naked, cold and shaky.
You looked around, you seemed to emit light,
Not knowing your might, you looked into th'night.
