The thought quite randomly crossed my mind the other day (whilst in the shower singing to Abba very loudly - just kidding ) Just how much of time in your day to day lives do you allocate to The Gate Wars game? And, what would your life consist more of if you had no idea that it existed, or if it didn't exist at all?

I personally haven't done much actual war play or role play recently ingame, so therefore haven't spent chunks of time on the game ie an hour or so at a time, but instead have played it mostly in five minute peices over the course of the day, during work (when the boss is not looking ) and every hour or two whilst I'm home doing other things. The weekends usuallly consist of PPT, so not much need to play but I'll always get on at some point, usually hungover on a Sunday and I'll lie in my pit all day recovering watching tele, getting up to bank etc.

If there was no Gate Wars game in my life, I think I mightn't have failed so much at life in the last two years! Again, just kidding, but in truth, I could have dedicated a lot more time to sleep, and perhaps outside social activities and actually doing some competetive sports. Even though I love the game dearly, I have tried to quit the game so many times but it has such a mesmerizing competetive alure and not to mention a usually interesting community, but I really couldn't tell you if I'd let myself sign up if I knew then what I knew now. Would you?

Anyway, sorry to ramble, I wanted to hear you thoughts!

Depends how much farming I am doing. Right now with a lot of free time, well....I have no life, I sit on my SGW account most of the day farming.


And, what would your life consist more of if you had no idea that it existed, or if it didn't exist at all?

I would spend more time playing my other video games. Xbox, PC, Wii games, etc.

i used to play tonnes in the past but recently i have been trying to cut down

well i would probs have a full time job all the time, i would probs have alot more friends that i can see and also maybe have a GF but i bet my confidence wouldnt be that high

wat the hell am i doing playing this game wen i could be out there getting laid and getting drunk with mates

I'm fairly sure I'd just have wasted the time I've spent here some other way. Getting drunk, or playing another game, or something. I doubt I'd have cured cancer or done anything worthwhile if not for SGW.

I used to play SGW alot more than i do now, basically because i cant raid, and can only farm.
4 days a week im on PPT as im usually out for a day or a party (I schedule my PPT's and always think ahead about a week)

Im always logged into msn as my computers generally on, so if im at the computer doing work etc i can usually log on to help a friend or attack a good target.

I did raid and farm before during study times, which i dont think was such a good idea, but dont think it really changed grades alot if at all.

I miss raiding.

I would have probberly done a little better in my Administration class if I didnt play. Seeing the little 'TheGateWars_Main :: Base' tag in the IE tabs every time he went to check my work always set him off. I liked that class aswell.

I don't devote much time to the game itself anymore... a little here and there. I do, however, spend a fair bit of time talking to people I only met because of this game.

Hmm, I spend about two hours a day on it, over the entire day. Much more time spend on my alliance forums and such.

It's why I quit SGW.

I spend far too much time raiding even on PPT I spend a bit of time chatting to everyone on MSN about it or setting trades up.

this game is so adictive... here i think i use 2 hours on forums each days
(and very less ingame).

before this sgw, i wasnt able to believe that a game like this one (only text and web pages) could be SO cooperative and social.

well I'm working cures to things, but sgw is a good diversion... OFTEN! Though i think the way cooler distraction is the msn contacts I've got from sgw more-so than the game itself.

just think, instead of working on a cure for cancer he's playing SGW!

What the hell happened to you? Did you see the dark side or something?
