The Iphone was cracked & modded like, a few weeks after it's public release =P Old news indeed.

meh... wouldnt like an iphone anyways. id prefer an ultraportable micro pc

Those things are WAYY too expensive for the performance they give out =S I mean, IMO you'd have to have a problem with computer addiction or a very very exigent work that requires such thing to even consider buying those xD Damn, 1000$ and up =/

i still like em... useful to me. i am an aspiring author and to my stories, i have a lot of text, music, videos etc... its semi useful for that, plus, its a fairly unique thing.

i might buy one in a year or so. (whenever I get a job.)

but you got to admit that its interesting how they can get Vista Ultimate on the OQO model 02, eh?

Vista *shivers* I guess they 'lightened' it a tad to make it fit in there.

vista isnt as bad as ppl make it out to be. its just different, ppl will adjust. same thing happened with XP, same with 2k and im willing to bet (not really, i dont gamble) that it was same before that. Probably not the jump from 95-98 but i think you get my idea.

quite honestly, after the teething problems are sorted, ill buy Vista Ultimate.

my vista can idle as high as 900 megs of ram, and yes, i said IDLE.

when i said next year, i meant it coz i need to buy a few things. ie my 500gb HDD, 4gb DDR2 800mhz ram, an E6600 (or maybe a new mobo and a Q6600). but when i get what i need, lol ill be well off. i think I can support vista as is, but i wanna set myself well in check.

2K was crap all along, people never stopped saying it =P And I had the chance to observe first hand what they meant as I had 2K for a few months before I bought my XP pc.

As for Vista .. I'm still highly doubtful, I mean, there's buttloads of stuff on it that's plain useless, only there eating RAM and being eye-candy. As I have not tested Vista & don't plan to for quite awhile, I don't know if all those useless things can be disabled. If they can, well it's already a good point. Also there's compatibility, if they can fix that it'd be awesome, I've read like, hundreds of posts from customers on tech advice websites & PC review websites that said that there was quite alot of compat. issues with the thing .. And well, at last there's the outrageous price, at that price if I ever get it, it'll be off the internet - And even there, I'd get XP off the internet instead and use the key I have now.

While talking about Dual-Booting; I don't see the use of dual-booting XP & Vista, when you don't need both.. I mean, XP does a b-e-a-u-tiful job, why replace it if it works good? - Plus it kinda eats some ressources to have those two rammed in the same PC.

What else can I say about Vista .. it's one of those things that need some heavy work to be done on before being considerable as an option, I find it sad that they are forcing customers to take it by giving no choice when buying a new PC (Except Dell, do they still offer XP anyway? Gave them my seal of approval for that ^^). But heh, it seems that it's where the future of Win. is heading to, let's hope it's for the best.

As for myself, as said earlier, I'll be hanging on my XP with the tightest of all grips until I REALLY, I mean REALLY^2, have no other options (To me, Mac OS isn't an option, neither is Linux - just to be clear on that note).

@emma: yes, it will be expensive, however the hardware, i can get real cheap. and the OS vista? by the time im ready to buy it, itll have its teething problems sorted. win2k, I like, i had a few issues, but it did what i needed it to and it wasnt heavy on resources.

btw, i had pentium II running 2k. i didnt want to try XP on it. ill always have a place for 2k, cos i installed it on the first compy i built.

I remember my 2K era, on a P3 I think, something around 800mhz 256mb RAM, t'was bought something like 10 years ago xD It bugged like hell =( But 98 was awesome tho, so 2K only was the crash between 98 & XP for me.

Lucky you, cheap hardware ><' I'm getting money to buy a graph. card to get rid of the damn integrated chips they shove down my throat, but it's kindof hard to pile money when you don't have a job & have no time to have one =(
