account synchronisation - is it really necessary?

regarding postcounts, is it necessary to have a postcount based on what posts still exist?

i have made posts that have been deleted (being a frequent in the spam temple) ... and until a synchronisation event my postcount didnt drop much... (the occasional spam temple 'nuking') anyway, because it isnt there doesnt mean that i didnt post it... in theory, id have well over 2500 posts if this synchronisation didnt happen. i dont want to hang on this, i just wanna know for sure.

thanks :-D

I just have two things to say:

1. who cares about post counts? It's ridiculously low if it's under a million, period
2. I'll probably not be resynching in the future, as admin has told me that with a database the size of ours, it would be better to use different tools than the ones built into PHPBB3, so if any resynching ever happens in the future, it's not me, as I don,t have access to these tools. ;)

hmm... what would post counts be like if spam temple didnt get pruned... once thing is sure... we would not have been the second largest poster on the forum...

pwned :P

As a note: no forums get pruned anymore. The spam temple stopped being pruned a while back and more recently, Jason disabled pruning on all forums because of the latest crash. He says that pruning and resynching features can really mess up a databse the size of ours.

I wouldn't know, but I follow orders 8)

Actually, pruning was only really activated in the market sections, so, if anything, it's just more work for the market mods <.<
