Question about mod selection process

The other day Diamond Dust was added to the team by buck, who is a global moderator. Do all global moderators have this power, or only buck?

Also, what is the current selection process? Bazsy mentioned earlier the current system doesn't allow the addition of new mods just like that. Care to explain how and why?

There's a topic about the same thing here.

This topic isn't about your appointment, that only sparked my interest in the selection process. So I'd still appreciate an answer, preferably from a forum admin or global mod.

P.S. I really hope this topic isn't locked by the time I hit 'Submit' lol

The topic does refer to my appointment if you read it through. I'm slightly confused though, are you questioning my appointment specifically, or how moderators are appointed on a whole?

Bazsy posted somewhere how it really is... basically, applying as a mod guarantees, you will never be a mod. You have to be "chosen". Makes incredibly much sense and helps to always have enough and motivated mods, really. oO

I can appoint mods because i am in charge of a section of mods.

I carnt appoint global mods or mods to any other section.

The recruitment process is currently being rewrittain and i will obtain a copy for you kevin!

Which system will change in matter of days. And if you ask me I didn't like it. That actually lead to the whole issue.

Well I was never the one who choose the selection method. I wanted to suggest a (I think) better one, but it was unsuccessful. So I had to go with the system in charge. Which was proven unsuccessful.

Didnt you hear Geisha nox? you have to "chosen" because thinking your capable of helping the forum out and asking for a chance to do so, clearly means your a greedy person and just want power and would be the absolute worst thing for the forum, it would never mean you would acctually like to help the forum out a bit

Personally, that isnt a good system, sure you can get good mods through people posting respectfully etc etc and not wanting anything but to not destroy the forums through thier own actions, but then you can also just have mods appointing friends, who could be terrible mods. (thats in no way a stab at Buck or DD, just a simple opinion, who knows, DD could turn out to be a great mod :P )

Yes. And I still say. Finding mods were difficult with that system. No change here. Now its under reconstruction. Which is a good spin-off from the whole issue we had in the last days.
