NPC's

I just thought up an idea. I was thinking about all the inactive accounts on SGW as of late. What If somehow Forum could make there be NPC's (None player Characters/accounts)
He could create them off the inactive accounts that have taken hold of SGW. This would not only get rid of the inactivity issue but also give some new material for ppl to use. A variable upon a variable if you catch my drift. I havent thought out th mechanics for such an undertaking but I do beleive if this would be incorporated it would add a great boost to gameplay and fun factor. Aslo be a tad more chalenging for players who are actively faming inactive accounts. Since instead of having 1 attack merc just farm or raid away, they would have to really put some inititive into thier stats.
What does anyone else think about this?

It does seem interesting to have NPCs, which over time grow with the game.

Have a NPC account make random attacks based on their race.
Tauri NPC accounts only attack replicator or goa'uld accounts with a few rogue accounts that attack fellow tauri's.
Asgard NPC accounts only attack replicator or goa'uld accounts.
Goa'uld NPC accounts attack everyone since they can't even trust each other.
Replicator NPC accounts attack tauri, asgard, and goa'uld accounts.
Have all the NPC's be a member of an alliance and randomly attack other alliances.
Definitely could be interesting.

hmm... NPCs that request memberships...
what would a major alliance do if it got such account in it by a mistake, and that account then launched a war?

I think he meant ' members of one alliance'... sort of 'United Federation of NPCs'

Yes...
The asgard, tauri, replicator, and goa'uld NPC's would each have their own alliance so they can jointly act as their race would, thus it would be the NPC's whole alliance that are waging wars on another alliance and the NPC wouldn't screw an alliance for something a NPC did.
Perhaps each NPC can have their own configurations or formulas on how often they bank their naq, purchase upgrades, train their UU, buy weapons, etc.

It seems my idea was a decent idea after all. The coding for such a task though would be a major undertaking. But the idea does have the potential for an addition to game quality and realism. I do hope this idea can become more than an idea

NPC's that could trade would be fun as well. Instead of those players that overprice everything to the point of making a small to medium sized player bankrupt for days or weeks depending on thier income would have some compition. But then again this is just my own thoughts running around to try to come up with a decent usage that NPC's could be used ingame =p

one of the worst idea ever.
The game should be played by humans, make human mistakes, and attack like a human does.
Planet names who fear people wont be of any use also

if they did put this into play they should make it so the NPC's dont attack players with larger armys than them overwise it would be stupid you would have NPC's with armys of 9k attacking rank 1

not to be mean or anything but this idea would kinda stink, it would take out raiding, and make it much much harder for newbies to grow, they couldnt raid, and could farm as effectively as with inactive accounts out there.

Say a NPC has the following settings :
bank naq anytime naq in open > 2 billion naq
train UU anytime UU > 120k
bank > 1 billion naq purchase available upgrades first then weapons
Weapons purchased and UU trained would be based on race.
70% of UU would be miners
asgard = 15% defense supers, 5% covert, 5% anti-covert, 5% attack supers
goa'uld = 10% miners, 5% defense supers, 5% attack supers, 5% covert, 5% anti-covert
tauri = 15% attack supers, 5% covert, 5% anti-covert, 5% defense supers
replicators = 10% covert, 10% anti-covert, 5% attack supers, 5% defense supers
Weapons purchased %
asgard = 67% defense, 33 % offense
goa'uld & replicators = 50% offense, 50% defense
tauri = 67% offense, 33% defense
Of course, the settings would vary for each individual NPC. This would allow NPC's to increase their naq production, increase their UP, and still make them farms.
