Hey. I have a question. Maybe it's a noob question but I don't know.
I read on the forum that a lot people have high UP, and withe high I mean +100K.
My question now is : How do you get your UP so high? I invest a lot in my UP, but I have only 6K in total. And sometime you see people white a UP of 30.000(/170.000totaly). How do they that?
Thanks for the help

You work hard for a long enough time and invest in what is important (i.e. UP) rather than other things. And having a few friends to help isn't bad either

the way to get that high total UP, is to have a combination of the below: (some or all)
UP planets (up to 10)
officers with good UP (up to 25)
self-CO, or no CO

I search for planets but I never had 1 for UP. How big is the change that you find1?

The chance, you mean? If you send your MS out on exploration, not very great, but it happened to me a few times. If you are interested in taking one, there's a lot of inactive accounts with planets out there - you can spy them and pick what you want, provided you have enough fleets, but chances are it won't have a grand UP, so you'll have to invest some naq in it. Or you can take a decent planet from someone weaker than you, but of course you risk having a CO/alliance come after it. If you can afford it, you can buy one from another player - but you should be careful not to be tricked.

work really HARD on it. the way as i got my 30k RAW UP from 10k was this:
each week , i sold the portion UU i got from my UP (i think i had a few planets too ... but not sure) on the black market at good rates, this way it took me a month or so to get my RAW up to 30k ...
if you also raid a bit and get many UUs your income will raise too (if you train them as miners of course), and with a great income you can invest more on UP

You say that I gave to increase my income, but I'm always losing a lot naq after an attack. And it already cost 31.845.000 naq to upgrade mu UP 1 time. Should I build up my defence first, and how much defence should i Have?

The so-called rule of the thumb for attacking others: it's worth attacking if defense strength is less than 10*amount of naq. You do the math, but this is approximately how much def you need depending on the amount of naq you are likely to have in the open. Of course, not everyone goes by this rule, but it's fairly good to give you an idea.
And you can get naq by other ways than waiting for it to come to you turn after turn

well, it depends on you rarmy size what defences you should have, the ones with 100k raw up have mostly over 20mill army .. just grow

make a good defence, upgarde your UP and Income, maybe strike then to farm, or not if you wanna raid and the rest comes from alone

you say that you sold your UU, but I think I don't have UU. Is it possible that you get that after you ascend the first time?

UU = untrained units = the guys you get because of UP (unit production)
Trust me, if you play SGW, you do get UU... but, of course, depending on your race, they could be named unassigned spiders, peons, etc.
What you could mean is you don't have SS (supporter status) needed to send/trade resources (including UU). If that's the case:
1. you can pay $$;
2. you can have someone else buy it for you for in-game resources (for a lot of in-game resources probably) - or just as a birthday present

3. you can get 1000 G&R (glory and reputation) points and ascend or trade the G&R for SS.

Edit: Z beat me this time... but my explanation's better lol.

if it after your name on "base" page says {supporter status}, then you sell UUs this way:
1. find a buyer
2. broker him the UUs, in return for whatever you sell them for.
