Forum Staff ReShuffle

Hello,
come the end of this month, Agapooka/Pookie will be resigning his post of head forum admin.
firstly, i would like to thank him for his contributions during what was a difficult time...
secondly, I am pre-announcing the setup of the forum post-Pookie...

He will be replaced with 4 new positions.

there will be 2 'personelle forum admins' -- in effect in charge of ensuring we have enough mods, the right mods, and in the right sections.

there will be 1 'technical forum admin' who will run the forum itself - permissioning, groups, catagory setup, etc...they will also help the 2 other admins where applicable.

there will be 1 'ombudsman' -- basicly a role that interacts between the forum staff, and the forum users...they are a 'player representative' and are tasking with bringing any and all concerns about the forum, staff, etc to the forum staff. they will act as a collective player voice, giving it more weight/importance and focus. they will have access to everything that a forum mod would...100% visibility...

the 'election' of above roles are initially chosen by myself, and in future will be a group decision.

If i have done things well, when the names are announced, there will be at least one person in the group that you do not like/want. and hopefully at least one that you do like/want. It is all about balance -- the people chosen are quite different in attitude/approach and this is a collective strength - one will balance the other... and to do a job, does not require like :) -- but it WILL require professionalism, commitment to the role above personal issues, and overall respect for the community and users. if these attitudes are not adhered to, changes will be made until they are...

thank you.
admin jason.

The 4 new positons, can make a difference.

Instead, fair to the community you need to make sure the people behind the positions are the right ones to make the difference work.

As I've told others, give it some time.

I think it's disgusting that you are promoting someone who has openly called someone a **Filtered** on this forum, aswell as calling others scum while he was a super mod. Balance is one thing, what you have done is rewarded behaviour unbecoming of a respectable person, the fact that he was part of the forum administration at the time just makes it worse. His entire modship on this forum is riddled with poor decisions, insults on members of the community, disregaring rules when it suits him, making rules up when it suits him, general abuse of power and lying to everyone repeatedly, making excuses like "I was stoned" "I was annoyed" The community drove me to it" is the behaiour you're rewarding.

**Filtered** it, I'm out, I take back what I said about this not being a joke because t REALLY is.

another advantage of this system, is that the admins wont be overworked the same way...

i am disgusted "random moan" and terribly annoyed "random rant".

Dudes that talk like that on the forum should really get out more.

I couldnt see any problem with the forum until certain players (minority of the forum user group) started moaning, in multiple and basically spamming up the forum.

Infact its our forum, it is what we make it. I for one only use it for the market.

I urge you pookie to reconsider your job as you are an excellent candidate for the position.

I remember challenging you to put your money where your mouth's at. Then I had people betting 100k uu that you wouldn't do it.

Whatever happened to it? TBH Alot of ppl are getting tired of jerks who are trying to bring the community down.
And yes: that is a general player feel, and I will bring it up.
Do yourself the favour and use the 2 and half weeks between now and November 1st to change your ways. No need to kick off the new administration with a bad start right?

edit: that means some of your posts that lack constructive criticism are cause for my concerns.

I doubt the first of anything ever built was perfect or worked like ppl wanted it to, perfection takes time and work. It takes trying and failing, taking out, putting in and simply re-shuffling, after all is said and done most of us are being harsh and critical of Forum and his choices just because we can, Just cuz you can , thats abuse no matter how you cut(and yes even free speech can be abused). On a serious note lets just see what happens, don't shoot the messenger before he gives you the message.

Forum is what users make of it. Mods can try and make it a better place but if people do the same thing over and over again, how can mod force a user to stop doing it? If user recieves warnings, he moans, if user gets banned, his friends step in and moan over the mods and say that the mod must be replaced...now tell me, how it's mod's fault if forum isn't an enjoyable place? Forum will be what users will be like, if users will act normaly, won't breake the rules, then the forum will be a nice place, sure mods will have something to mod as there'll always be threads in wrong sections and some things that shouldn't be in posts and there'll be threads needed to be locked, but without forum's users cooperation, mods won't see themselfs out of the work and there'll be more and more of impropriate things on forums...So users are the ones making forum an enjoyable place, mods are there only to enforce rules and to make sure that forum won't become too chaotic...

Jason I wish you'll choose appropriate people to be mods and that they'll take the chance and not blow it up...

To pookie - we'll miss you

The best forums are ran by people who don't have no hand in the game. People who don't play the game, who haven't played the game, who have no desire to, and can hold their own opinions. Bazsy banned Tok'ra and his new account, T0k'ra earlier today for no reason but just because he didn't like him. And he is gonna be the an admin? Talk about abuse.

Supersquish is a good choice. Haven't heard anything good or bad about him so that means he is neutral. Only thing is that he plays the game. Worries me incase he gets massed he might ban someone or something, but other than that I have no problem with him. And the other 2 choices...can't remember who they are.

I wouldn't call it abuse if just a bit earlier Forum had deleted the same person's account... he may have done what he thought Forum wanted. I do not know what Forum wants, as I have not heard from him on this matter.

Don't make accusations so fast is all i'm saying.
