You have to get 1001 G&R points. To get those get in the top 2% ranking of players. I think theres something in FAQ section on everything you need to know.
Edit:put 1000 instead of 1001; fixed now

yeah, its 1001 and there is an icon that come up below your glory and reputation and you click on it and it tells you what you need to ascend like untrained units needed and naq etc.
