Yo, i was reading one of the suggestions and inside later on, in comments was this suggestion (only part quoted)
TacticalCommander wrote:Another thought, it only costs 8-9bil for a PPT. Thats pretty cheap for 48hrs worth of total realm protection. I think that PPTs should cost more, like an entire days worth of income, yes it will vary from player to player. But after all, a bigger realm would need more protection around it.
I think it's an awsome idea, so i made it a bran new topic about it, what do you guys think?

that would make it pretty much useless to anyone except the big ones... simply because the small player wont be able to afford buying it, while still being able to grow...
also, the cost with 10 mill miners, for an asgard/tauri/repli, is 42 240 000 000
can you see anyone below 20 mill army willing to sacrifice that much for ppt?
also, the cost for untraining, buying ppt, training again is is 15 000 000 000, + the income made by 10 mill UUs: 10560000000 is 25 560 000 000, quite a lot cheaper...
so no, it is better to have it as it is... 2x market turn thingy...

Asgards are cheap... hence why their treaty is worth a crap

PS: Why not to solve ALL problems with PPT's by removing them.

That is not the case if, as a new player, you've only got a few miners, no income planets and maybe no commander but you can easily farm 1-2 bil. off an inactive account.
That said, I also voted no.

25bil is still more expensive than 8-9bil. Not to mention, untraining and training 10mil miners to get a cheaper PPT will also result in 1mil new lifers. So while 25 bil maybe cheaper than 42bil, they can't do it forever before lifers won't allow them too. Also, PPT should be expensive, it is after all, 48hrs of total Realm protection.
Tok`ra wrote:Indeed, this is a horrible idea.
Itll just make things harder for the smaller guys.
Yeah a days income is ad ays income, but the bigger you get the easier it is to farm that much.
It costs about 9 bil naq for a PPT. Any small player making less than that amount per day would benefit. Especially with how easy it is to go out and farm 9 bil naq or raid 20k UU to pay for a PPT.
Next point, Why would a small player need PPT? They have little to mass and not much worth stealing, their primary growth is through farming/raiding, so being on PPT is a hindrance, not a help. I myself only use PPT to get the Bank Bonus. Plus if they make so little that their stuff isn't hardly worth stealing, so who cares if they decide to sit on cheap PPT.
If a player only makes 20 bil a day, thats what 40k UU on the market, again easy to raid with 1 strike wep, and thats if the person sells well below the going market rate.
Also any middle player these days can afford a PPT with ease. More easily than a small player who has to farm/raid the amount. So saying that the proposed by new cost only hurts small players more than big, well, its better than the current system because if anything, its the big players who end hurting, small players, wont notice a difference.

income is simply too easy to alter to use this thing...
that is why it is based of of market set prices...
all should be able to have access to it, not just those willing to sacrifice a whole days income...

the idea being quoted in general that PPT should be more expensive.
Maybe have it so once they spend the 9 bil for PPT to be engaged, have it only generate income every other turn, net result = they lose 24hrs income. See, simple. They won't maniuplate their income due to the fact they have to sit every turn to either train, or untrain, resulting in more cost and more lifers. Or if its easier to code, have the income only generate at half the amount. Just like Nox drains 10% income and cost 3 turns to engage and that doesn't even offer full protection.

Why?

eh, i dont really like this idea at all, most of the time i go on PPT its so i can make a little naq (and not get attacked over night) but i could keep more naq not going on PPT if it cost a whole days income to go on it.

Nope.
What you should be voting for is more Market Turns a week.
