Alliance of the neutral

Hey, i have a small question 
We all know "neutral" countries in our world... And their policy to the wars... they do not cooporate in any wars and are not included in any war... Example of this kind of country is Switzerland...
What i wana know, would you support and respect the wish of an alliance, if they would decide to become an neutral alliance? So they would NOT attack anyone, not even inactive ones. Would you still farm them, raid them, and war them once a while? I'm not making any illusions, i know that 100 bil with 0 defence wouldn't last... But do you think that alliance with this kind of policy could work and stay out of all and any wars?
I know it's a war game, but if someone would decide to play totally in peace, would you support this decision?

Yes, as long as they are capable of not provoking anyone. Very difficult to do that, though.

it can be arranged but they should have big enough defenses to keep their naq and surely make no stupid post and hit other ppl
but thats not the point of the game so this alliance would not last for long.

well everyone took a stance in wars, it's only natural there are those that take a neutral one in it.
the idea is feasable but of course strength is required to uphold this neutrality.
i would support it, only because i think no matter what the game is called you still play it the way YOU want to play.

Would I respect their neutrality?
Up until I saw a profit in doing otherwise. You think the powers that be respected Switzerland out of the goodness of their hearts during the world wars? No, they respected Switzerland's neutrality because of the considerable economic and diplomatic benefits.
Closest thing to a neutral alliance in this game is probably Team Bono, as they keep themselves to themselves and stray away from the wars/diplomacy/intrigue. They still aren't neutral in the most traditional sense of the word though.

It's nigh impossible to get a truly neutral alliance. You'd have to not attack anyone, and no one attack you, otherwise you're not really neutral, are you? As far as I can see, most alliances are simply looking out for their best interests, and, in a war game, is it in your best interests to be completely passive? No, it'll never work, people WILL attack you, either for a laugh, as RepliJake said, or because there was profit to be made, as Mordack said.
It's a nice idea, but wholly impractical in a war game.

I think it could be done - but don't see a point in it, if you don't do anything at all, not even attack inactives
