Capturing enemy troops

I think that we should be able to caputure enemy troops to get more information. If the captured person "co-operates" then we can spy or sabbatage with less problems and a better chance of success.

No! That would increase all of the farming and ruin the game. The strong people would always succeed while the weaker people would get a lesser chance. :!: Olokun

Well, not necessarily...

If you mean capture soldiers and return them right away as a secondary option of spying, then probably not. Why would a higher rank need to spy on a lower rank before attacking? No reason at all! Why would higher ranked players use it? against evenly ranked rivals to get a foot up in the spying game. Why would lower ranked users have it used against them? by users evenly (maybe a couple hundred ranks higher) ranked, to make a rival weaker or to make sure their troops will not be marching in to assured destruction. Make sense?

I think this is actually a pretty good idea! It could be always noticed in your intercepted intelligence, but the info would only be shown to the spied on player like half the time. Otherwise you have to wonder if he actually didn't say anything and got away... or if he did and won't say because he was persuaded against his commander. If you were told, it means he is still loyal to you but was tortured or something and let something slip. Meanwhile, half the time your enemy will get information, so it would be divided into four possible occurences.

1: You get information from the kidnapped soldiers. You release them and the soldiers claim they got away, as they are now your own spies when you need them. (about 1/5 the time)
2: You get information from the kidnapped soldiers. You release them and they instantly tell their commander everything they said. (about 1/3 the time)
3: You cannot convince the soldier to tell you anything. Under his long imprisonment he breaks out and returns to your enemy. (about 1/5 the time)
4: You cannot convince the soldier to tell you anything. Under his long imprisonment he kills himself/is executed. (4/15ths of the time if you accept my above odds)

Options 1,2,and 3 will give the spied-upon player a choice to execute them. (Hey, we need some kind of defense, and we are talking about some possibly really corrupt armies here. I don't think the average player will be too thrilled about killing their own soldiers anyway)

For every spy you have in an enemies army, you have about a 5% increase in spying and sabotaging ability.

UPGRADES:

Advanced interrogation training: +4% odds of the first option and -2% odds of the third. -1% odds of #2 and -1% odds of #4.

Advanced kidnap simulation training: Basically the opposite of the above, but for your soldiers, not theirs.

Advanced emprisonment training: 5% more troops (and incremental per upgrade) are kidnapped each time you "raid" or whatever an enemy for soldiers.

Advanced personal defense training: 5% and inremental less troops are kidnapped each "raid" you suffer.

Just some ideas, and I think SOMEBODY I don't know was a bit too quick to judge. ;-)

we can't add upgrades that often but it sounds nice. maybe a bit too much chance for option one...bell curve mite be acceptable.

I think that its a good idea, but unnecessary...I think it would just complicate the game a bit too much. Some of you forget what its like to be a noob in this game. When I convince friends from school, I have to fight witht hem for like two weeks until they finally want to play of their own accord, because they now understand.

Again, in my opinion, good idea, unnecessary

try increasing your covert level - funnily enough that gives you a better chance of success!

Nice idea...but this game is complicated enough now?

Whatever happened to get spy level to level 15 (gosh thats high), a nice attack, and go killing? No motherships, no super soldiers, all units counted towards naq production (except spies)

Those were the days...

Too much like raid for me...
