Stargate SG-1 - Date, Price for Ark of Truth DVD to Finish the 'Ori' Plotline

Release Date Revealed for the 1st of 2 Planned SG-1 Direct-To-DVDs

This past summer saw the release of the tenth and final season of Stargate SG-1, and an enclosed insert advertised that 2008 release of the first post-series project, a direct-to-DVD release called Stargate SG-1 - The Ark of Truth. This new feature, that concludes the storyline that was left hanging when the program ended, was previewed among the extras exclusive to Stargate SG-1 - The Complete Series (along with that of another planned direct-to-DVD feature called Continuum).

This morning our friends in the home video retail world got an update from MGM and distributor Fox Home Entertainment. The were officially informed that Stargate SG-1 - The Ark of Truth will arrive on DVD this March 11th. Cost is $26.98 SRP in the USA, and CA$37.98 SRP in Canada. The 97-minute long production will be in widescreen, with English Dolby 5.1 audio, French and Spanish Dolby Surround audio, and subtitles in English and Spanish. Extras were not mentioned yet, but we do expect some to be present. Stay tuned for further word about that, and for box art, just as soon as we can!

to clarify for those interested,

what is available on the internet (or was) was an unfinished version of the film which contains the wrapped filming parts but the special effects are unfinished.

I am not into piracy as I am in the production side of media... down with you damn pirates stealing my income *shakes fist*

so, if you are wise you will be patient and watch the movie how it was told.

Jack wrote:They do, do they? How do you get paid? Is it based on how well the media does, or is it a flat payment? Something tells me it's a flat rate, and in that case, downloading effects you not.

I guess the whole concept of royalties is lost on you?

I do not work for a big blockbuster production company, so i do not support piracy in the effort to help people break the habit of downloading illegally obtained media. I don't have too much troubles ripping of Fox and things like that, but when people get into a habit they dont care if they are hurting the independant production companies or the big honchos.

So if you cannot wait for an official release, or decide that you wont invest your few dollars in the entertainment someone else works for, please at least have a look into who your affecting. If its MGM or Fox, or even Universal... by all means, they are *modded* but I don't get paid unless our productions make money.
