I'm building a new tech system from scratch.
I'm looking for some ideas for upgrades.
Currently we have weapon upgrades for both attack and defence.
Durability upgrades so your weapons take less damage.
Weapon repair upgrades, reduces cost of weapon repair.
Economy upgrades like income.

whats it matter?
And FTR I hope its high like UP.
Well sense we have so little as this server is "simple" as in no MS, or planets or anything, really the only other things you can upgrade is maybe covert power, or anticovert power, maybe have research to open the realm alert status, having to reaseach each level seperately. You could do a UP upgrade but I honesty hope not.
you could do upgrades on your fatige levels to make it so they get tired slower and maintain their income. You could make an upgrade to increase the amount on naq taken on a hit slightly.
just a few ideas

Re: Technology
I'd like to see the weapons upgrade implemented (these weps are way too weak) - but other than that, and maybe the basic techs you used to get on sgw main, I'd rather not see tech upgrades. At least for a while anyway.
If you try to implement too many things from the get go, there's nothing to look forward to.....plus, these upgrades always tend to lean towards the older players - longer I'm here, more chance I'll have all the techs, and less chance of anyone else catching up (because they'll have to buy all the techs I did, meanwhile I can keep on upgrading and stay ahead)

Re: Technology
and definitely get all the bugs/kinks worked out first, adding techs will increase them
The weapons upgrades are needed as right now all my weapons are sabbed away nightly in 1 sab with no losses. I can only hope the more powerful weapons will address this?

Re: Technology
how bout a tech that makes training units less costly
to allow you to train units faster
that way you wouldn't have to worry about sending a plague to kill part of everyone's untrained

Re: Technology
This is going to sound kinda ironic, but what about temporary techs as well?
For example (yes it's a bad name, but meh) an Viagra Tech, only last for maybe 24 hours or so, costs a small fortune, but add's 50% to your UP during that time. And due to the stress of using that tech on your people, it can't be used more than once a week/fortnight, etc.

Re: Technology
I would implement something like that a long way in the future.....but its got potential. If you make the cost proportional to the benefit you'd get from it in some way....could add an interesting strategic dynamic.

Re: Technology
i wouldn be found of it though kind of hard to work out the cost/profit and just makes things complicated where this game is good due to its simplicity (well in my opinion)

That I like
More proficient soldiers accumulate more naq in a raid on their enemies, and are less affected by fatigue.
As for critical, it would reduce the amount of naq out in the open, and those who are relying on farming nightly incomes for growth.. . I am not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Re: Technology
Some intresting ideas rolling around in here.
And honestly I like the Temporary techs idea, just not right now, not yet.

Re: Technology
Name:Fat Camp Enrollment:
Description:
Your Soldiers are sent off to Fat Camp, your beefy soliders need to get into better shape and work on that Fatigue.
What it does:
Instead of gaining 6 Fatigue points an attack, with each Tech level, it is reduced by one point. So at Tech Level 2, Each attack you do you would be getting 4 Fatigue points.
Tech Tree:
Tech Level 1: Fat Camp Enrollment
Tech Level 2: Fat Camp Stage II
Tech Level 3: Fat Camp Heavy Training
Tech Level 4: Fat Camp, Getting that Slimming Feeling.
---
Numbers are not ofcourse dead figures just and idea so u get what i mean.

Re: Technology
Also... when including... dont add them all at once... add lets say 3 levels... or one level... or two... then 2 weeks till next levels...
Another way would be that u can upgrade from lvl 0 to one... then to go to lvl 2 u need all techs at lvl 1... to get to lvl 3 u need all at lvl 2...
