Re: bugfixes
It's not a bug, just means they have a higher mothership tech/ascension than you. Ask Adapt, he's taken out a few motherships in his time.......
It's a viable game tactic to mass down motherships and force them to waste units on more, via high tech. I've done it myself.
No other Newground's user has posted on this since to verify any problems.

I decided to attack 'Spatha' and I lost over half my motherships, I'm 18th ascension.
What's interesting is he only had 34 ms at the time, and I spied on him and he has no techs.
With that I'm assuming Jason has increased the loses of ms of attack to defence, since I attacked 'lot' and he lost ms and I didn't .

Stop moaning, if it's such a big issue for you then email Jason.
Don't expect it to be fixed just by posting here as it doesn't get checked any more, a few of us have been posting forever about some unfixed problems which haven't been dealt with for months. They still aren't fixed. Keeping saying how rubbish it is isn't going to help, trust me.
Send the email or just enjoy the game for what is it; That's what the rest of us have learnt.

Re: bugfixes
LOL I just had untrained units giving higgs, on a turn change I got my new units and my higgs went up before I trained them to priest. Of course when I trained them to priests nothing happened because they were already producing. I will wait for the next turn to see if the same thing happens. Train the new units to something else and see what happens.

Re: bugfixes
Yup, still happening. Higg production went from 2815 to 2839 without training any priest a couple of turns later. Made those units into spies and Higg production stayed the same, which means I now have spies contributing to higgs production.

Re: bugfixes
Only 33% of your army can produce Higgs
You have more than that in Priests and at the TC your army size increased therefore increasing the amount of effective Priests...

Re: bugfixes
Basically, **Filtered**, you have too many priests. All units you get now are enabling your priests to 'fulfill more of their potential production'.
Let us do a little show and tell:
Say you have 1000 priests, and an armysize of 2000.
The 'priest cap' is 33% of your armysize, that is 660.
You produce '667 Priest Production*techs*ascension' amount of Higgs. (this is not the formula, but a model representation)
Turn Change! Your UP gives you 30 new units.
Your armysize is now 2030. You still have 1000 Priests.
The priest cap is 33% of your armysize, that is 670.
You produce '670 PP..'.
You train your 30 new units into Priests, you 'lose' their added production. You train them into 'anything else'.. you enable your Priests to fulfill more of their potential.
What you notice is what we call the 'population balance' at work.

Re: bugfixes
Not true, as I said in a different post. Well at least about the 33% rule. My army consists of approx. 97% priests. I make more in higgs than my overall army size everytime I add priests, my higgs production goes up even though I am way past 33%. I don't know, maybe my understanding is flawed. I do understand the show and tell bit you are trying to put out, I just don't think its the case with me.
Edit:
The increase at every turn in higgs production without me training anything just started a few turns ago, or else the show and tell bit would have made perfect sense.33% gets higher as your population gets higher. Here is the post I made somewhere else with some numbers:
I don't think it works like ppl are saying it does. I have 2657 total army size. 2607 are priests, way over 33%. Tech is at 58, higgs production is at 2800/turn. I waited for 1 turn, got 8 more, trained them to priests and higgs production went up to 2807. If only 33% give higgs, then adding those 8 would have done nothing to increase my production since I am way past 33% already. My take on it is that those priests still give higgs, so they are not dead weight, but only 33% worth of your total population in priests give the extra higgs you get for tech bonuses. So yo can still train most of your population to priests you just don't get the bonus for all of them. They still help though in base higgs production.
