hmm you did notice that it grows with the number of planets. + prolly some bonus from charisma? or is it just me imagening?

not directly related to charisma i dont' believe... up til now i just thought it was to show you what your # of planets was ranked so you knew how many ppl have more planets than you and such

Well, if charisma does not improve influence, it's the wrong name!
I mean, apart for giving you access to more spells if you choose that stupid sorcerer class, CH has always ever been giving bonus to your influence over people. Even if generally it's ever ever ever ever ever ever only useful in useless sidequests
Only invest in CH if you also max out INT. That way you'll be able to convince that stupid Ori guard to give you access to the cave instead of killing him.
