New Attack Type

Okay i have been reading and reading regarding planets being too powerful and being a major problem for this game. you come up with ideas to limit the power of the planets or you find bonuses for your ms fleets.

how about this as a new idea

a new kind of attack type
you can only do one thing right now to planets.
Conquer planet
what if you could just go to a planet to destroy facilities.

you know just send in your mothership and your fleets don't take out the defenses they try to bypass them and attack the facilities themselves.
maybe you have to have 30% of the total defense of a planet worth of fleet strength in order to do this mission and it is a suicide mission type thing. more like sabotage and less like ac kills.
like a successful mission destroys a certain percent of their facilities and then you loose 5 percent of your fleet or something.


and as an added effect you can go 1 of 2 ways.
1 way
when you destroy a facility the stat goes down and the price goes down to what it would be needed to upgrade it.
2 way
when you destroy a facilitiy the stat goes down and the price stays the same as if it hadn't been attacked.
this adds a new strategy. it might make the planet unusable and undesirable.
it would stop planets from being a dime a dozen and every little planet out there being the same.


what are your guys thoughts on this.
this could add a pretty good twist on the game.

And ask the people whom agree about doing a similar thing to MSs... Lets see what people say about that. That way, everyones MS will be about the same level, like planets. Then we can just remove them both entirely from the game

I'm against it. Simply for 2 reasons:
1) Why whould planets be damageable when they add stats, and not a MS?
2) If you REALLY want to damage facilities, then just mass the defenses (since if you need 30% instead of the current 15%) then you remove 25%, and if they take it back, it'll have lost like 48-49% anyway

The main reason this is a bad idea is currently when you take/conquer a planet you cant attack another planet foir 24 hrs. doing this means that an alliance can funnel massive amounts of resources into 1 MS and go around basicly 0ing all planets with no loss of use of their MS.

Thats basicly why its a bad idea

well you see why not have the same effect on motherships as well.
i mean you can only make a ship so big right.

well if you think about your first reason

why not
you can take out motherships its fun to do. you mass them down. massing down a tril power mothership is very fun and enjoyable.

why wouldn't you be able to dame something that adds stats. you can sab weps away why not stats on planets.

Your second option is invalid because the point isn't to take the planet it is to damage them.
change merlins so that they only prevent planets from being taken instead of damaged.



LORE
Limit how many times you can attack this way in one day. to 10 or 5 times. period after that time your mothership is as if it were off finding a planet but 24 hrs after the first attack a planet isn't discovered. it can still be damaged when you are being attacked.

there won't be this such thing as 0 destruction. it is basic suicide sabbing.





this whole thing is about adding a new frame to the game.
if you see something wrong with something in it you will just say someone will abuse it.
things are meant to be abused. that is the bottom line.
everything can be abused by someone who wants to abuse it. and you cant fix that with a patch or a new update.

i will give you that it won't be accepted like mothership sabing is happening.

mothership sabbing should and would work if it was only usable during a war setting.

what if that is what they do for planetary warfare.
you don't take planets you destroy them. ect.

Let me just point out that I WANTED to be able to attack planets without taking them, I'm telling you why it wont happen.

Just like I think it is so stupid that your MS sits there watching a planet be hauled off without acting, and even if you reacted 1 min after it was taken it still burns 24 hrs worth of use on your MS. Its just stupid. Many good ideas were hashed out to cover these things, and then promptly ignored by admin.

The entire idea of moving planets is so stupid.

Get rid of them, get rid of MPDP, and just go with being able to use "support" planets in your realm, and those "support" planets can be attacked and stat boost they give nulled.

Its like how stupid it is that you actually increase the physical size of a planet, it shouldnt be the size, but the infrastructure and its complexity. Then planets can be destroyed down to burn husks and would have to be built back from scratch paying for facilities and increasing the infrastructure of the planet.

There are some things that should never be allowed in a game, and that is when I can be hit but can not hit back.

Those over the raiding cap cant raid, but the raiding button should still function, just turn to "killing" men instead of kidnapping them

Having 10 planets renders your MS unable to function, Moronic at best. Make all planets attackable with no need to steal them.

Make planets steal/MS down times relevent to distance traveled. If it takes 24 hrs to reach a realm then if it was 1 hr ago that it was took then stealing it back should only take 2 hrs, 1 hr to catch the offending MS and 1 hr to bring it back home. If you catch them in the same turn they take it then it shouldnt cost you any time as its not even moving good yet.

Why the hell can a MS be taking a planet and be tied up for 24 hrs but still be there during a firefight? Why does it sit there as someone takes your planets? So many stupid fundamental game flaws that have been brought up, hashed out, and then ignored.

lore you should focus on improvements to the idea instead of pointing out why it wont work or how stupid the system is already.

why not
you can take out motherships its fun to do. you mass them down. massing down a tril power mothership is very fun and enjoyable.

MS are rebuilt with something like 1/10 of the cost of rebuilding a planet, THAT'S WHY.
100k weapon slots costs 200b (once slots are bought, and your buying weapons), for 200b power. And the same power from a planet, at max size, would cost something in the order of 20+T

MS are rebuilt was the key term there

they are rebuilt at a certain price that does not go up and does not go down as long as you have the slots

what if you had the same slot situation with planets
you buy the slots or facilities then you have to buy the energy or work hand or whatever you want to call it to work in said facilities. when you go and attack it stops the workers from getting to work and they end up dieing so you have to outfit the slots again with more workers.

that was just a scenario.

but if we had slotted planets then this kind of attack would have been a game update a month or 2 after they came out with planets.

Probably yes. Then i would reconsider my possition. Only problem is things like UP never go down. So massing UP planets is a bit iffy.

If you could only mass military power planets, then i could probably go along with this

a MS of 2t without fleets cost more then 1Q naq to build volleys/shields + techs, now smone at cov 35 can sab it to a point that his MS can mass it and a cov 35 doesnt cost 1Q naq.

there are MS massing tactics that allows u to mass a big MS while using a small one , just try them first and u ll be happy ;)
