Re: Stargate Battles-Our fan-game series.

Might I request that you host the fifth game somewhere else. I can't download from MegaUploads and I'll be dammed if I download their tab (I got viruses just by visiting their site).

Gonna play through 4 today and will leave a feedback later on.

Here you go:

Normally I host all my games at 64digits, but that site has been down for a while, so I converted to Megaupload.

Re: Stargate Battles-Our fan-game series.

WOOOOH. Been gone waaaay to long.
Okay...
I got SGB1.
Didn't download SGB 2.(Havent had time)
Got SGB3.
Now I have a couple questions....
SGB 4 doesnt have ground combat in it anymore?
SGB 5 is done.. Does it have ground battles? (Still downloading...Going slow and it may quite before it is finished :( )
One final question.... are you still planning on making a game covering the SG1 series? That is the one I am looking forword to.. :D :-D :-D
Also. If none have ground battles when may one come out? I loved the SGB4 demo with ground combat. It looked great and handled great.

A GREAT SERIES!! Many thanks for making them :D

Re: Stargate Battles-Our fan-game series.

Actually, most people who played the ground battles, and by most people I mean all except 1 or 2, absolutely hated them. We received so many complaints about them, that I opted to have them removed. There are a few left in there.

SG: Omega, the game that follows the battles and events in the series, is underway, but production is moving slowly. I am trying to focus on SGB 6, as is Battera, my friend from Gateworld who also works on the game. Recently though, our other project-worker, Fiender, has been focusing on a new game idea of his, and it is slowing us down. Battera handed the Omega project over to someone on Gateworld, but as I understanded it, he hasn't done much on it so far.

Re: Stargate Action Games-Look inside to download!

I'd like to run a couple of ideas by you guys/girls. After all you are our "adoring public", if there ever was one.

The first Idea is for an SGB 7. It takes place not long after SGB 6 (the story follows, but no spoilers for SGB 6):

Humanity has been systematically wiping out a race called the Koer'kesh for the past 3 years. They horded their technology over other races and enslaved them. They are completely convinced of their own superiority. Their technology is so far below ours however, that we have lost only 1 ship in the war, and most of the crew escaped anyway. It's more of a liberation movement than a war.

The Koer'kesh use nanite technology in their ships, constructing them of countless tiny robots, but they are not anywhere near as durable as the MW replicators or the Asurans. Driven to extinction, the last of their race consisting of 9 cluster ships breaks into 3 teams, desperate to survive. The first team is sent to investigate an Ancient settlement that they feel may give them technology to rival ours, the seconds is sent to search for a new power source, and the last travels back in time to the moment that to Koer'kesh believe that we became as powerful as we are-the moment we get our hands on the Ancient outpost.

The first team find nothing, and is taken out by the Alpha 308 attack group. The third team engages Earth's military while trying to claim the Ancient Outpost (I'm planning on having a chase scene with a Koer'kesh ship pursuing the Prometheus over New York City). Jessica O'neill, commanding the USAF Legyon, travels back to engage them. Anubis's fleet is crushed by the cluster ships. He 'floats' aboard one of them, and takes control of one of the Koer'kesh Hierarchs, and learns of how powerful the Humans will become. Jessica finishes off the cluster ships, and works with Samantha Carter to try to undo what the Koer'kesh have done, while Anubis tries to seize Dakara.

The final team meanwhile, locates an asteroid drifting on the boundaries of the Ori Galaxy. They detect massive levels of energy from it. They send a mining crew, and discover massive caverns of an energetic glowing blue material, and excavate it onto their ship

The other idea we have is an MMORPG of sorts, kinda like Stargate Wars, only with fleets instead of ground troops. Players will choose between various races, and explore the MW, Ida, and Pegasusgalaxies. Planets they find can be mined, and the ore can be sold for money, or used to build structures and ships. Everyone starts of with:
1 capitol ship not capable of hyperspace travel.
12 fighter ships

You will explore your local solar system, looking for suitable planets to inhabit, and mine. You can upgrade your ships over time, and develop Hyperdrive engines that will open the galaxy to you (with limited range), and eventually open the other galaxies to you. You can form alliances, make enemies, and such. Once you reach the 'Critical Mass' stage, your territories and fleets will be attacked by enemies such as the Ori, and the Replicators, and you will have to fend them off (Ori will be weakened into 'manageable' levels of strength.) Eventually, expansions of various galaxies will be released. Only those with good hyperdrive will be able to search them. They will add new enemies, new playable races, and more planets to explore. Many of the galaxies and races will be (OF COURSE) based off of the SGB series, such as the Sculptor galaxy (Devodians), Enkyllian Galaxy, and the Spindle Galaxy (Baltians, Jarshja, and Vajnaarians). This will also be a very long and difficult game to make, so if you want to play a new game quicker, you may want to vote on SGB 7...

EVERYONE has 3 votes. You can vote all 3 onto one game, or split it up a little. And, as per SGW forum rules, I KNOW that I cannot post a link to the MMO on this site. All links to it will be put on 64 digits, and/or Gateworld.

Re: Stargate Action Games-Look inside to download!

REALLY?? WOW.. I LOVED ground combat.... Odd others didn't... oh well.

Anyway. TO other topic.
This MMORPG.. YOu mean it will be online based like SGW? Or what? I haven't had any experiance with ANY MMORPG except SGW.

If it is downloadable I say Nay.... it will be way to large.
Here is my votes.

If the MMORPG is online based like SGW and is NOT a fast-connection site. (SGW is about the max) then all 3 votes go to it.

If the MMORPG is downloaded and larger than 25 MB. My votes go the SGB7.

And this isn't a complaint.. mearly a HUGE curiosity.... WHY is the SGB series a more popular idea than SGO? Although I play them for originality, and I like the gameplay I am not extremely interested in them (That is the plots) outside of SGB3 (gamma project).

Re: Stargate Action Games-Look inside to download!

It will all run off of a server program, and be downloaded. Chances are, that the user files wouldn't be very large, as it would mostly be text and code (probably not much bigger than a large wordpad file). It would be made with GM, and be similar to SGW in some ways, I admit, but like all of our previous games, it will focus almost entirely on ships.

What is SGO? Stargate Online?

Re: Stargate Action Games-Look inside to download!

Oh.. lol.. Put 3 questions about 2 games in the same parapgraph. *Sigh*.lol.

About SGO. I meant Stargate Omega. That is I have only asked a couple of people but they like the New races and stuff of the SGB series and are dis-interested in the one with the "old races" like Goauld and stuff.

And as for the MMORPG. Ok sounds like it could be a good one. I will have to see what it would be like (If you make it) Because I have no clue about MMORPG's :D

Re: Stargate Action Games-Look inside to download!

Hate to keep posting ;) But since 64digits is down (again :( ) Could SGB4 be hosted somewhere else? Megaupload requires a seperate thing and I ain't going to download it from there.

But no need to though. I almost think 64digit will be back tommorrow or something... Seems like it is constantly switching from being up and down.

There aren't any suitable places to host large files. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

A quick mini-update, since alot of people are complaining about the speech bubbles, and the lengthy conversations in the games, as well as the lengthy scenes. The conversations will be shorter and to-the point. The scenes will be as long as we want, but by pressing 'space' you can skip them.

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

I'm sorry, keep forgetting to update this site's topic... We've added a zooming feature to the game that lets you see as much of the battlefield as you want.

Well, here are some screenshots showing off the zooming feature:

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

Jesus Christ, I have been away for a while. Remembered just by chance you guys still exist (take it as a compliment, not offense, since I've left every single community I was in before).

Will try it all out, you've always had great ideas.

I like the idea of a SG "RTS". So, GREAT WORK!!!
