Well like many of us whom are unfortunate enough to be on the tok`ra msn list I was added to a mass conversation about 10 mins ago. Like the other 80% of the things he talks about he was trying to cause trouble, which in some ways I can respect and this particular conversation was about the stargatewarrirors site.
When I first saw the site listed on the SGW site I didn't think much of it but thought it would be a good, neutral place where we could discus the pro's and con's of the game without the levels of moderation seen here at times (which at this time I am not critisising, Jasons forums, he can do what he likes with them, whether that is good or bad for the community is a seperate, unrelated point). The new website I was expecting would respect neutrality and complement the game where good and critisise it where bad.
I am not at this stage suggesting that this is NOT the case, it may well end up to work exactly like that. But something Tok`ra said has put me in doubt about that exactly. The site is apparently paid for by Jason, same as sgw and these forums. My concern I guess is that if Jason pays for both sites and picks the staff to run them then what exactly is the difference. Again I am not trying to be critical, it's a free world and I love it that way, Jason is entitled to 100 sites if he so desires but if this one is indeed neutral and not at all influenced by Jason then can we have some sort of idea of how exactly this works? Just to put my mind and no doubt many others minds at ease.

I don't agree with Tok`ra but it is kinda odd how they say its a community fourm when Fourm owns it.

Re: stargatewarriors??
I have since spoken to a mod, apparently some people approached forum to host their fan site for them, rather than the other way around, seems reasonable enough to me, thanks for the answer.

lol....
Im not interested in any forums which has tokra and co running around swearing their heads of shouting 4chan memes like their going out of fasion, and are run by geisha. (Yes thats who FAFH is)
So in summary.

And, who wants some independant (completly) forums set up? (PM/Msn me)

Re: stargatewarriors??
Well someone has to run them and there's not exactly a lot of candidates is there? These boards are great for official game boards but for actual discusion, they're not designed for that. They are heavily modded and prooned and that doesn't make for a good, close community. I'm curious enough to give the new boards a try. If they work then great, otherwise, havn't lost anything really.

Re: stargatewarriors??
Forum doesnt really run it at all, im sure he could pull the plug on the funding if he wanted to, but he has no overall control of what is said there, i could go there and say "huh this game is a big pile of etc" and he probally would never hear about it, let alone have any ablity to do anything about it, he wants people to chill out at there own leasure too, hes not a monster!
Think of it this way...
This forum is a gentlemans club, that forum is a pub, they have the same landlord, but are completely different.

Re: stargatewarriors??
T'is a shame Ikon isn't about. Now that he's seeing a little more clearly I'm under the impression he could offer a lot of insight into the new forum, which as I recall, he played a large part in.
If anyone wants some back story into it I'm sure he'd love to tell you.
But in the end, the basic feel is that the people who were outsted by Pookie on these forums pulled some strings and with Jason, got a new forum up.
Very pretty too. Lots of shiny stuff to keep people ammused

Re: stargatewarriors??
Matter of opinion, I know people that I find annoying(not Tok`ra for the most part) but I don't wish them off the Earth. You learn to respect them and find there better side.
More on topic, what is annoying about what he's saying now?

I'm not going to change your mind so I'm not going to get into it.
I (and a bunch of others) find him annoying. That's the facts, jack.
Cheers!
