If I were to accidently declare war on some higher ranking player then myself would it seem that I want to attack them and start a war or would the other person just laugh at it. If I took no military action against just hit the Declare button. Would it be good to send a message to them saying that it was a mistake or just wait the 24 hours and hit the neutral button

Yes just appologise for declaring war and then declare peace as soon as possible

if i were you, prevention is the best way,cause some ppl take the declare war alittle to far and since you declare on bigger players that bigger player might just beat u into ground beef because of it, some ppl are reasonable.

Just apologize, explain it was a misclick, or don't contact him at all.
It's not that big of a deal for most players - he/she'll probably just laugh and ignore it.

Indeed, its more than likely. If you ranked in the top few hundred I doubt it will be of much concern to them if you are ranked 15k or something and declare war unless you attack them
