Physical Defense Effect on Ascended Attacks?

How much effect does the physical realm defense actually have on ascended attacks? what determines whether the attack is distended or goes through when the defender has defence left (more then a tiny tiny bit)? granted most of you here are working on much bigger scales then me but how much of a difference can there be for attacks to have effect?

if you have def above 50 bil def it should hold off most of direct assaults, ask Tweety what happens if you hit 100bil+ def

It's a pretty huge difference actually, seeing as your defense deals LF damage to them.

the key factor is if it's greater then their command Star, however the problem is no matter the size the larger the defence, the more lifeforce they hit back with. It's a good way to get yourselve descended.

against 100bil strike on comand star
atacker has more than lvl 20 energy skills
defender dont have those skills at al
rank almost the same

result: atacker looses 270k lf
