no. it's not your thread, the discussions isn't over by everyone, and I really dislike locking threads. I'd rather let them die out.

Re: Removing the "buddy" system.

then why are you a mod? To know the tools of your trade is a good foundation to being a good mod and I think that is the biggest problem, maybe a crash course on how to use all the forum functions etc?

LOL! oh sweet jesus.... why am I a mod? i've been one for a year. I applied and was accepted. I know all the tools, and I know where to find them. They're all lumped together under the "moderate this topic" thread. Can't win, though, can I? or any mod.

I make a joke about how I rarely close threads and therefor "don't" know where the button is and you jump on me for being incompetent. Had I locked the thread, you'd have jumped on me for overmodding... or someone else would have, like the author of the thread.

And you wonder why mods are fed up? I know that some of them caused all the problems themselves, but for the rest of us who just sit quietly in the background doing our job?

Thankies, sir, and have an excellent day.

Re: Removing the "buddy" system.

Personally, as a mod, I put in an application when the announcement was made that the forum needed a number of moderators, and was accepted as a General/Newbie FAQ section mod.

Personally, I liked that system the best. When a number of mods were needed, applications would be open, and the administrative staff would decide who best fit

The method being suggested, as the public voting, would be rather detrimental. I know of a few people who would be "voted" onto the mod team, (because all of their "friends" would vote for them) who would endlessly clash with the other mods and disrespect their points of view. I will not name any names(oh, and by the way, inb4 "That's because you're making it up"), but personally, I also dislike the current method, where you're suddenly a mod if you're "tight" or "cool" with 1+ members of the mod team.

Now speaking as a player, and a user of this forum, I will agree that the "warning" for calling a user a "noob" is COMPLETELY ridiculous and too far out there to be considered for a permanent mod status.

By all means, if that is what's going to happen every time someone is called a noob, then by all means, warn me and revoke my mod status now, because I'll call plenty of people noobs, not speaking as a mod, but as a player.

And again, the current system of becoming a mod is ridiculous, and as much as I am against public votes for mod team appointings(with the exception of perhaps Race mods. Those votes were always fun, and good natured), I would rather have that system in place than "Hey, my buddy wants to be a mod" - "Okay, he's in"

Now then. Sorry for the rant. This thread will remain open unless it gets out of hand and flaming ensues, and THEN I will lock it. Setesh is all for free speech.

Fine, so get rid of the bad apples, open applications and let admin staff choose replacements because the way it is going now is not forward but backwards in a major way. mods deleting posts where they break rules, swearing, hiding stuff, coverups, deceive community etc. etc.

The time for talking is over, just go and do it or suffer the consequences

Of course, because there are mods that have a hidden agenda and are out to get you, and screw over the community.. ;)

I feel sick. I feel extremely sick reading about what has been going on in my absense. I'm sorry, but the mod team as a whole did some discusting things. I know they were provoked into some of them, but all the same. And then to watch one or two members running around behind it all cleaning it up, hiding it.... I'm sorry. I'm not sure I want to be part of the team anymore

Correct, Rienna is doing her job, you must be the other guy.

Re: Removing the "buddy" system.

over zealous because I banned your little spam buddies? The ones that spamed every single post ever made? Or because I removed you from a mod position because you were totally inadequate.

All you are good for is spam, as you prove here once again by going totally off-topic. Try something new and post something useful for a change.
