cheaters effect on commanders?

i recently had a friend ask me, if his officers admitted to being multis to him then would he get into trouble if the multis were also his officers? he didnt know until they told him and they have been his officers for a while. he has kicked the multi but kept the original officer but he doesnt want his account effected by someone else cheating. he has ss and spent real money to play legal and just wanted to make sure. he won't say who it was and im not asking him again. just trying to get him some help. thanks

Re: cheaters effect on commanders?

Chances that he's banned are very slim, unless he knowingly abused the fact or is an multi himself.

and thats one of the bigger mistakes in our rule system.
imo all players are resonable for their accounts, including their UP bonuses (aka. officers) and therfor the chance should be very high to get punished.
having officers slots open also means checking who joins you...

but again, thats just my point of view on that matter.

but how can someone check who joins them? all we can do is ask and ill bet a cheater wont be completely honest. all you can do is kick an offender you know of but anyone can cheat.

the easiest way to prevent such joinees, is to interview all potential officers properly, and, the rest of the time, have the Accept New Officers checkbox unchecked...

so if i joined you and didnt say i had an alt but did, you should get into trouble for me cheating? how is that your fault? or if i told you i had an alt which im finding more and more people do here (through msn and other chats) and you kicked me from the officers then you should still get into trouble for the uu you recieved before i told you? how is that fair to any non cheating players? sometimes you have to trust until proven otherwise. then take action to set things right. thats why i came to the forum to see what had to be done to (fix) the problem.
