I've just recently had my planet attacked so this is why this suggestion is coming forward.
It doesn't seem fair that the defenses of a planet can be eliminated by fleet attacks after just one attack depending on the strength of the fleet attacking you, but in comparison, your defenses don't impact the fleet attacking you with any degree of equality.
What I mean is that my defenses were decreased by 600 after the first wave, but the attacker's fleets could be repaired and then re-attack. The planet's defenses should not only damage fleets which can repaired easily and quickly, but also their hangers as well.
It seems that the most weakest link in this whole game is the planets. I mean a planet can be massed by multiple people multiple times and the owner rarely knows right away, and only until the log on and find it stolen because it has been attacked multiple times, but by then it's too late to do anything about it. It would be nice to repair a planet's defenses like you can do with a MS fleets.
In short there needs to be more equality between the defenses of a planet and the damage done to them versus the fleets being used to attack them with.
Now whether that equality comes in being able to repair the defenses at a cheaper rate than actually building defensive facilities, or the defenses of a planet destroys both fleets and hangers on a MS.

Re: Attacking Planets - Suggestion
Destorying hangers a big no no
Defence is the same set rate depending on what size the planet is While hangers cost more and more ever time you upgrade
also if the planet defence can hit the MS then why can't the MS hit the planet defence then there be some people that dont even need fleets
yes planet are the weak thing in the game but they give you the most bonus

Re: Attacking Planets - Suggestion
Yes, I can see the logic in destroying hangers would be bad because the costs would keep increasing, unless the game accounted for that, and set the rate for the amount of hangers the player currently has. So if hangers were destroyed, then the amount to buy new ones would be the same as if they had never bought them in the first place.
I also agree that planets are a great asset and bonus. That is why when they are taken it hurts that much more. If my UP planet is at 30k per turn, that is a big chunk taken away in one instant. That is why the defenses of planets needs to be re-thought. I mean it can cost a lot of money to build up the defenses, especially when it costs 60 mill. Then if your planet gets hit 3 times by someone, you're not only out the planet's resource, but also all the money you put into building up the defenses, which can be quite considerable. And what have you done to the other player, nothing to speak of. All they have to do is repair their fleets a few times, and they're back at your planet.
Again, the equality of the attack versus the defense is way out of proportions and needs to be addressed and rethought.

If my UP planet is at 30k per turn
errr lol
30,000 X 48 = 1,440,000,000
plus dont forget you got to have a high raw to even use it for full effect LOL
when it costs 60 mill
60Mil is nothing and if you ment 60B that still nothing only 1K defence on a large planet

that doesnt compute...
the math above should either be:
A.
- 30,000 X 48,000 = 1,440,000,000
B.
- 30,000 X 48 = 1,440,000
C.
- 30,000,000 X 48 = 1,440,000,000

He probably meant 30k per day, not per turn. Still, your point is valid - 60 mil. or even 60 bil. are not particularly much on such a planet.
So, to get back on the track... no matter how many defenses you have on a planet, it's not unconquerable. It's a risk you're taking when building up a planet, and personally I'm fine with it.

If you mean suggestion and implementation of new updates, you're right... it will probably go on forever and it's what keeps this game more interesting than others I've played. If it didn't change, it would become boring, no matter how many people play it.

Re: Attacking Planets - Suggestion
I trust the admins to only implement updates that will in the end prove to benefit the game. So far, I've been satisfied of the way it was handled.
Besides, it looks like there's more to come, including updates on the Ascended server

Re: Attacking Planets - Suggestion
Yes, sorry. I did mean 30k per day not turn. And yes I do have a high natural UP, so I am able to use 100% of my planet's resources, which is why it sucks when one is taken so easily, figuratively speaking.
I think everyone would agree that there is a huge imbalance between the loss of a planet when you include the cost to build up the resources and the defenses, compared to the cost to repair a few fleets. That's all I'm pointing out.
After all, isn't this a suggestion forum? Granted it my have been brought up before, but that's the beauty of a forum, it can be brought up again. And I agree, it's up to the Admins whether or not they feel it's something to consider or not. But if suggestions or ideas were never presented, then the game would never change and become stagnant.
And really, this is the only gripe I have with SG Wars. Other than this imbalance, I freakin' love this game!!!
Now granted I am now on the look out for a UP planet to replace the one I just lost. The difference is I ensure the player is inactive before taking it by looking at their attack turns. If maxed out at 4000 then I am relatively certain they are not actively playing. However, those are few and far between, and in the past 2 days I haven't found one UP planet on an inactive player's account. That's probably because everyone else has done the same thing... Oh well, what can ya do, eh?

Re: Attacking Planets - Suggestion
up planets can be hard to find...
one thing that would make it safer to have one, would be to have something like 10k defenses, and production somewhere in the range 10k-15k... those are safer than 30k

Re: Attacking Planets - Suggestion
might be better to have both strength lowering, and some being destroyed on attack...
