My thought too... with ascension you should loose everything. You get the bonuses but you get a penalty for that... thats how it should be.

probably the worse update ever. maybe daimon worse but this is very close. and do not kid yourself this update only helps the big guys with top 30 MS. they can now ascend again and get the ridiculous rate of APP<>LF. admin=ruining a great game. just a fact not opinion!

I think this is a fine update, theres no sense in rebuilding a mothership .....

obviously you all love building them from scratch, if your so against it have someone mass it before you ascend.

There's this thing called ascension, when you're supposed to give up on pretty much everything you've gathered in your empire...
But I'm fine with the update, even if I'm an Incarnate now

good you acknowledge your God. some real bull crap that the big guys are crying saying "i cannot ascend again because my MS is too powerful." well not like they did not know that when building it why all the sudden say okay you can keep your MS and ascended losing nothing really now. how is this a good update? keeping MS= destroying 2 servers.

But I think the servers will survive this new impending doom, as they did for quite some time now, despite many prophecies.
Like I said, I'm OK with anything Forum does trying to make the game better, even if I've already ascended a few times myself.

and to this MS issue... its limited by your ground forces. build it till the skies / top of the tower of babel... you are still limited on how high you can climb by the length of your rope... and i am not allowing rope to avoid ascension

and as robin says - if MS goes, so do planets.... so pick a side in the "planet and mothership" debate, as that's the only debate here... both or none... not "some/one of one, some/one of the other..."

This is ridiculous! How all of you are arguing over this and not seeing how this benefits everyone!! This means that the small player who is ascending for the first time keeps his MS and can try build it up and will get to higher stats quicker and can defend his/her planets with more compitence!

If it's a player later in their game, maybe an incarnate they can continue to ascend and won't be losing ground on the big guys when it comes to MS ranking (since the big guys would have no reason to ascend when they are sitting pretty and just stat building at that stage)

Or say it is one of the big guys, someone who is an AG (10 full ascentions) would be getting his 34% bonus (I think) and has a huge MS (and really a huge a/c), with the new updates he can ascend another 10 times if he wants, and get another 10% bonus, if he's been stat building for a year or more he's not going to ascend if he loses all his stats so if he gets to keep his MS then that's going to be a bit of a compromise as he's gonna have to lose all his supers and I'm guessing that would be ALOT of supers!

The long and the short of it is it benefits everyone cause it effects everyone in different ways!

Personally really liking this update, hopefully will make ascending a bit cheaper. Well im off to give my mothership some naquadah.
