1) the display was right, the 'deduction from account' was not.
2) i only today found out about this 'bug' (in short the update appears to never have worked as it should have.)
3) i have no way to say if anyone else noticed they were not 'paying the sticker price' for LF ... or whether they did notice, and kept quiet.
4) the issue is moot, since i used this update to ensure no advantage was gained by said increase in levels with 'underpriced' DMU -- i had to make levels a bit cheaper to do so, but that was the solution i chose over adjusting the account with > 700mil planets...
so - i cannot say anyone cheated versus not noticing the bug. i adjusted the level costs to compensate for this bug such that no permanent advantage was gained.
case closed.
Once again Jason, I must say that either you misunderstood the message that I sent you saying thanks for changing the DMU-LF conversion rate back to 10 million per 1000 LF after you said you were going to. Because it was at the displayed levels for about a week. Then a day or so after you said it would be changed, it was. And I sent you an email actually thanking you for doing so. Not sure if I mentioned that the display was all screwed up or anything. Apparently all emails from me are going into your spam folder. I won't bother emailing you about the absolutely HORRENDOUS update that you have made to ascension and main, thereby undoing years and years of effort on the part of so many and pretty much handing control of both servers over to the quick ascenders. Thanks so much!
I think this falls under the same category where you were all agog when DD started to use the SW as I said we would if and when you implemented it.
And because you reacted to it as you did, everyone thought DD was doing something wrong, when in fact we had your blessing. Now you are reacting to something that you should have known about shortly after the update went in, because the coding was right (ie. the displayed amount was the amount being deducted) for about a week. But then the rate changed back, though the display did not, and I figured it was just you changing the rate back but not the message. I thanked you for it in my email. You probably missed it because you probably assumed (and, at that time, I can't blame you for making the logical assumption) that it was another email telling you exactly how unfair the 700 million planet cap was, etc.
Folks, I knew about the rate change. Others knew about the rate change. In fact, it was another person (not in DD) that told me about it. Jason had said he was going to put the rate back to 10 million DMU per 1000 LF and it happened a day or so later. I didn't think anything of it, just thought that Jason had so much on his mind that he didn't change the display (an occurrence that is not infrequent amongst updates). The only thing that I did was to convert DMU to LF to store for the updates so I would be ready for when they came. Sorry if that constitutes an advantage (which Forum insists he compensated for in the updates). I know that the updates didn't do me any favors so believe me, I am taking it up the fourth point of contact without lubrication right now. Merry Christmas, quick ascenders. Christmas came early for you. Have fun ruling both servers. Thank you Jason. I have learned many valuable life lessons while playing your game.
