My Resignation

I, Mod of Wisdom (hereby referred to as "DaDigi"), hereby submit my resignation from the moderator team. I have made it clear that I am not happy with the way things have progressed lately. No offense to the persons involved, but this forum will be taking one step forward, two steps back as of November 1st.

I do not doubt FS or Smoosh's ability to be an administrator of a forum. I do, though, doubt their ability to be administrators of THIS forum. Too many people have issues with FS's decisions of the past few months, and it would take a LOT of time to right his wrongs. I haven't even heard anything of Smooshable the past few months, but oh well. This community is, for the most part, un-satisfiable. Ever read a story that goes like this..?

If you give a mouse a cookie,
its going to want a glass of milk.
If you give a mouse a glass of milk,
its going to want a napkin.

So on and so forth.

The moderators care about this forum. No matter what we do, you guys poke holes in every possible spot. You never highlight the positive stuff we do. You guys ever look in the For Admin section? Do you know how many issues we forward to the game admins, and to Jason himself? As of late, the combined issues of school and this **Filtered** have limited my actions, but in the past months I've done so much work for you all its not laughable.

I moderated these forums because I wanted to give back to the community after sitting here for months upon months doing nothing. I felt that I enjoyed the game so much, that I could help out with stuff. Hell, I even emailed Jason asking what I could do to help out. I tried helping with the wiki, but the co-admin was pretty hellbent on having things his way, and had the wiki closed. So much for that idea. So, I ended up joining as a moderator.

During the summer, I attended nearly every meeting. I brought bugs/hacks/suggestions to Jason. I helped out a countless number of people. Thats when I realized, this is a thankless job. After all this time, I've received all of 2 thank you PMs. That was so long ago, too.

Just in the past week or so, I suggested an idea in the mod forums. My idea was, that people who helped out beyond what most people do, would get a little ribbon to display in their signature. My example was Lucky Star. He has a several-page long topic going in the For Game Admin section, and is (was?) posting lists upon lists of IDs that were suspected of being multis. No user is REQUIRED to do so, but he dedicated his free time to take it upon himself to do it.

What did I get? I got people saying its a good idea in theory, but it wouldnt work out in practice. The other mods said it would just widen the gap between mods and users because it could be considered favoritism. The ingame titles were brought up as proof.

I would like to give thanks to all that have been here to talk and to help me. That list includes Forum/Jason, Pookie, Bazsy, Hensenshi, Zeratul, Teal'auc, FreeSpirit, and Lord Nequeal (sorry if I didnt spell it right, you and your crazy name :  )

So in conclusion, this community keeps digging itself deeper and deeper into the ground. You can all see daylight for now, but there will be a point in time when all you will see is darkness. Then, it will be too late.

By the way.. I hate writing, in general. I only write long posts when I feel very strong about a certain subject. For me, this is a long post.

Thanks all.

Thank you for all you did. I know it is too late but I just thought I would say it. Good luck in the future and I am sure you will be missed.

That truly is an overlooked section. So much goes on that should be thanked, and I'm sure they do much more we don't know about in there. I mean this forum was created for the game. Much of the issues pointed out there, ideas thought up, and discussions are taken granted of. It's what keeps this game going.

Well the basic meaning of all this rambling? It's a thank you, to DaDigi, and everyone else who tries to help and puts up with everything. Sad to see you leave DaDigi.

No matter how bad somebody was in your eyes or in the eyes of somebody else.

There is no need to flame the person after quitting the job. I mean more you could never want or?

Well i wont quit? But can you really still count somebody who spents an hour as average on a forum in a week and has offered ages ago to resign?

I dont think so. But then i also think that it doesnot hurt to stay as mod and to be abel to sometimes do the job
Writing as a mod. But i am currently testing colors. So if you want to claim one as yours or its not the best to read give me a call please :-)

Re: My Resignation

DaDigi I'm sorry to hear this...but some things just have to happen :?

I'd just like that everyone who helped and wanted to make DaDigi to leave to just think about what they have done...Now think about how would you feel if people would bring u to leave and it would be you posting this kind of thread, not DaDigi? How would you feel? (also this is a rethoric question so I'm not expecting any answer as I know what it'd be, even if someone would say diffrent...we all are humans and have same way of thinking about some particular things)...

Well I'll answer that for you actually. DaDigi signed up for a voluntary position WHERE HE PERFORMED HIS JOB. Why should we thank someone for doing something that they wanted to do? Its like the classic scrubs example. There is a garbage man, how many times a day do you think he gets thanked? You cannot expect people to thank you, whether you get paid or not, you are doing a job, you wouldnt be doing unless you wanted to on some level, and as this job in completely voluntary then He dont need thanks.

Furthermore, I dont see any other moderator moaning about the public users of the forum. People moan and fight thats what they do best. As far as I know, there has ALWAYS been some members of the community making life difficult for the mods in some way or another.

Ultimately DaDigi, I have nothing personal against you, hell if there is one thing ive seen since ive been back, or should I say, one thing I have not really seen. Is the mod presence their used to be. lol. At one point, if you were to describe admin and the community as two different teams, you could easily say the mods were far more in the community team, only playing a few rounds for admin, now they seem to be on the admins team and there own. I dont really feel the mods in the community anymore. Which I suppose the community partly deserves for attacking the moderators, the messengers, for admins decisions. (please do, anyone, correct me if im wrong on that last statement, because I was not here.)
