I'm NAPedwith many of the good naq making alliances in the game and this is what I have done so far. Also include the time I have been in a war and not been able to farm (a bit). So really, farming is profitable.

You can build a ton of strike planets, a huge ms and a strike big enough to get your boost from the support planets and farm quite efficiently.

Farming isn't profitable because of some of the updates that have happened in the past - peoples accounts grow too quickly, making other aspects of the game dead.

This all happenend because people wanted things more quickly and more easily - some people said it would harm the game, but nobody listened.
