Hey, i have recently started and what is actuly a big army?, i got a few 100's super soldiers with best stuffs and hell lot of naquadah, and...

Amazing army=120mil troops and more
Huge army=70-120mil
Big army=30-70mil
Good army=15-30mil
Average=10-15mil
Small=3-10mil
Very small=1-3mil
Tiny=under 1mil

Why did I have to come here and read this? I knew I was small (6m) but having it confirmed is somehow depressing...

Actually, came for some advice.

I have my own figures in my head, wanted to know if they're reasonable or not...

Based on my current shell, it'd take me approx 4 months to rebuild if I was wiped out. So it follows that depending how well/fast/lucky I could farm&raid it'd take anything from a week or two, to 4 months to rebuild.

That's too long (4 months from "raw"). I'm getting terribly bored rebuilding...

So basically, what do you guys consider reasonable? Being able to get back to where you're at now after a week? A month? 4 months? At what point should I be happy enough with my shell to avoid getting totally bored rebuilding? I was kinda aiming for a month... Ballpark, how fast do you guys pick yourselves up after being nuked?

Takes me four hours to restore from a complete massing.
That is counting own UP to replenish defense troops.

Without that, I'd be back in an hour.. although I personally prefer having reserves at hand to take care of immediate concerns.

At the moment, my reserves are sufficient for 6 complete rebuilds, including (when necessary) a purchase of UU to train.

if u have 6mill army
600k attacks, defenders and covert ops.... then u have 4.2 mill miners/ lifters.... also planets use them wisely..
use PPTS 2 build ur bank, some ppl can store around 14days of ppt or more...

I think perhaps the "10%" rule is good for bigger players, and especially with ascended weapons. Unascended, with only 600k to spread around between att, def & cov and an income off 5.4m miners (esp if you have a few income planets) you wouldn't be able to take a break of even a few hours without being a naq farm. And whilst growing by stealing naq and raiding is a large part of the game, I like to avoid being too much of an obvious target. Especially with a high cov, you tend to find *most* of the bigger players who can see through it aren't much interested in a few billion so it kind of minimises how many times you get hit by a drive by... Right now I've shed a ton of weapons and cov to drop rank so I can go look for some tasty farms to try to build a bit more before ascending. Having done so I've only had a low cov for 2 days yet whenever I take a break for a few hours I get hit for naq. So it would seem keeping a high cov does indeed keep away more casual passers by...

Don't forget also the huge difference ascended weapons make. I've seen (to my dismay) 200k supers make mincemeat out of 1.5m def supers (and no, he didn't have that big of an att planet. He did have a rather impressive ms. But it was the troops that did 80% of the damage).

I think maybe 10% for the very young, since their naq & uu wouldn't be much of a target anyway, ramping up to as much as 20 or even 30% in the middle, before ascention, then winding back down to 10% after ascention... But what do I know, maybe that's why I'm still so small...

[Edit: Yeah, I know about ppt. But I wouldn't be seen dead on it. If I had my way there wouldn't be a ppt. Keep perg & vacation by all means, but ppt? <spit>]

PPT , is 1 of the most important things in the game!!! basically, ur bankl is gonna be soooooo low, u wont be able 2 store much naq and have reserves wen u r massed!!!! ur gonna spend ages trying 2 rebuild

Uhuh... And the problem with that is?

It's a WAR (& to an extent strategy) game... ppt is one of the reasons wars are unwinnable, people go to war and mass at the drop of a hat, because they have the ppt to cower behind and rebuild...

If anyone ever goes to war with me then hides behind the ppt I will mock them incessantly until the end of time even if it costs me my account and I have to abandon and start over.
