How about we stop saying SGW is dying. If someone has cancer you do not repeatedly tell them they are dieing, you tell them that they are going to make it. Maintain a positive attitude about the game or the game will surely fail. Its the power of thought, if you say something enough, its going to happen.

I agree. There are always problems that can be fixed, issues to be resolved and opinions that differ, but this game is FAR from dying.

As I said in another one of these threads, these topics claiming that the game is dying is doing as much harm as good. Through these topics, you create a climate on the forums of disdain and dread for the future of this game, which both builds anger amongst long-time players as well as turns away newer players who read this forum.

That said, it is wonderful how people have so many suggestions and input for the game. But this should be labeled as such, not as yet another thread about the game dying. There are too many people who care too much about this game to let it die.

I know this has been here awhile and I should have posted this sooner, so don't hate me. But I feel it has to be said.

I would agree with you - but there is only so long you can remain positive! People have been saying the very things that have been discussed in this thread for 12 - 18 months now.

Mathlord is also correct that some of these topics do more harm than good - possibly, but I would take that further and say that it is some of the people posting in the topics that actually do the harm. There's been a few of these topics recently, and to be honest, most of them have been filled with people making suggestions on how they think the game could be improved - which is a positive thing! The negativity comes in when others wade in with comments such as 'No, crap idea' or other such useless comments - without adding anything of worth.

That's very true, but you have to accept that there is always a possibility that the ideas mentioned are actually crappy ones.

At the end of the day we all have to accept this is Jason's game and he runs it how he sees fit. Sure, we can suggest, cajole, whine and make grand statements about how "we" can do a better job, but it still doesn't change the fact it's his game. Personally i think he's doing a great job, especially so lately...

Indeed! And in my time I have shot down as many crappy ideas as the next person - but the difference being I actually explain why they wouldn't work or why they would be bad for the game as a whole, rather than just saying that they are crappy or citing selfish reasons why they would be bad.

I think Jason has tried his hardest to put things right and please everyone - but that is not always, and sometimes never, possible - and introducing an update to modify an update that was brought in to counter a negative effect in another update only ever works short-term - at best - and more often than not introduces further problems.

i dont think SGW is dieing they are all lazy i come to love this game and trust me when i say that just as starry is so hot this game is also hot in last 6months i became alive attacking 1 player to attacking a whole alliance,i now have started collecting alliance in my alliance attack logs ??if that makes any cents so call me crazy but u have to start loving this game or it will get the best of you,sign spider bite

As for Jason... he's doing an awesome job, that update in ascension has although I wouldn't say balanced the server, certainly made it more even.

Well, I will say this, there must be enough positive players around. Ever since I started playing back in May 05 there has always been a SGW is dieing thread. Either that or a "Veteran Leaving, We are Doomed" thread. So my guess is that some where down the road that there was enough who really cared and still care about this game. I would not be surprised to see this game run for the next ten or twenty years. If it does get shut down, someone will care enough to bring it back. As long as this is still profiting the owner and he still cares to maintain it, SGW will proceed.

P.S Now if only Americans where this outspoken about our government...
