I think you get the point.

Re: Deleted accounts
'coz the first place she'd post if she'd been MIA for over two years is in here, right?

Jack wrote:You don't have to give the mods administrator rights, just the ability to change the poster of a post
Yeah, that's exactly what I said.
In fact, you can't do this with the ACP
See, I even said that admin rights wouldn't even cut it.
I then demonstrated how it could be done and tricked Buck into thinking Opti was back at the same time! ^^

Jack wrote:That sounds like a matter of trust to me. Jason obviously doesn't trust you enough not either abuse your "privileges" or break something
Possibly true, who knows but more importantly, who cares? I have enough control to perform the tasks required of me. As do the other mods.
Jack wrote:Yeah, the practical reasons are stated above
Indeed
Jack wrote:Oh don't get me wrong, I just find it extremely odd that you have a bunch untrustworthy people in a position of "power"
They have as much "trust" as is required for them to perform their various tasks around the forum.
Jack wrote:I didn't accuse you of accusing me of anything, so did I miss something? Are you secretly accusing me of something? As for the n00b comment, I didn't say you were "being a n00b" I said you are one, which clearly you are. My definition of n00b also includes the definition of "newb" or "newbie" if you prefer.
I was just replying to this, my definition of n00b also includes newb and newbie:

True, he did offer it but unfortunately we aren't able to use it.

Re: Deleted accounts
It comes down to this being a requests and suggestions issue. Jack and Tok`ra you've both made some very good suggestions that i am taking on board. But this particular issue is so minor and trivial and to solve it would require a very large amount of work for so very little reward. If I give all of the mods power to edit authors then it will be you two accusing me in two weeks of allowing mods to do impersinate other users.
A lot of your suggestionstions are good, but this one isn't. Can we please just let it go and move onto some of the other ones that will actually improve the boards?
