I think what Avenger meant was that with Omega around, things were more exciting because Omega takes to this game way more professional and well-thought out than most players. That attitude forces other players and alliances (true, not all of them, alas) to look at things with a stronger focus on organisation, skill and strategy. If you risk running into a wrestler on the way home, you bring along a weapon. Similarly if you risk coming up against Omega, you get sober and focus yourself and your alliance mates.

Consider this; with very few officers, an army will crash in upon itself and fail. With a good batch of, objectively spoken, the best players in the game, all other players gain an incentive to behave, to mature, and to strive to become such paragons of gameplay themselves.


RepliJake, you say Omega received no support? I would counterpose that Omega kicked those who DID honestly support them in the guts, saying they were only wanting to hop on the bandwagon. You have had, and still have, your support. As for the level of those that support you, all I can say is "Whoever does not value the small things, should not expect the larger."
You guys are, as is said and proven sufficient times, some of the best players of the game. If it is not too much to ask, please explain to me how it is good for any game if it's main paragons hide themselves in silence?

And perhaps you *are* here for the general entertainment of all. Explain to me why else you would be playing this game, if not for entertainment? Does not the main entertainment come from the people behind the numbers?

Well, you should not judge people based on bad experience with few. It is as bad as people judging whole Omega without even knowing the group. Not that you'd care of course, but you certainly must see my point.
There are many other people who would like to see Omega around, no matter if they like or hate you.

I understand the frustration however I believe people should look at bright side of things, especially in games we are playing. Because if there's no brighter point of the game, why we would bother playing at all?

I was thinking about remarks made about people who openly said they supported you, who were then made snide comments to saying they were profiteers. I'm not really thinking of any one situation in particular.

So basically your problem with the community is that no one intervenes when, obviously, Omegans are wronged? I should've seen that one coming.
Perhaps a new generation of people (like the many who have signed up in the past months) can make a difference at that point? It is my opinion, like Teal'auc says, that we should look at the bright side of things. It's cheesey, it's flawed, but like democracy it is the one thing closest to satisfying.

It is a grand abomination that people were not punished for insulting your friend. I assume you have shown them all corners of the fighting cage after such a gross transgression?

Looking at your words, I see that you're talking about one who *was* an admin (but isn't anymore), one who was *going to be* an admin (but didn't become one) and one person that is in fact inconsequential. All things considered, those people should have been reprimanded by the collective of the community. That is what you're saying, right? If that is all, I wholeheartedly agree. Had I been around at the time, I would have commented.

Personally I believe the problem is as much in your factual superiority, as it is in the people that cannot forget they once only saw your taillights on the highway to success.
Jealousy is a b***h to counter. For so long you were, and are again, a collection of the best players in the game, that people have come to identify the symbol of Omega with absolute supremacy. Then, people cannot believe that such supremacy can be achieved by regular gameplay. They're right, it requires special skill in the game and in diplomacy to achieve such status. Now that it *seems* like Omega is slappable material, people cannot stop slapping.
This is why I mentioned the next generation. They do not identify you with the supremacy and false allegations of cheating you suffer from parts of the older community. They can, if they use their common sense, see that *fun* in a game means going a different way than a lot of people have gone in the past.

I'll cut short here, lest I come across a preachy nun. 'pologies for the long post.

Well, it used to be honour to be in Omega, Auriel. However problem lies on the both sides of barricade. It would be lie to blame just the community. Yes, some things were out of line towards Omega, but then some Omegans were/are not behaving actually correctly, at least in my books.

My suggestion would be to move on. Holding grudges is pointless at this stage. The game needs to have its pillars of history and hate them or not, Omega is part of SGW history. They made solid impact to the game. Anyone who has been here in past 2 years could see it.

And yes, there were people who blamed Omega for all wrongs and they were completelly blind. It's easy to blame someone than to write something insightful.

BTW how can someone claim Omega were cheating...? From what I know they are ANTI-CHEAT alliance, given the fact they fought most known cheater Nebulator and many others. Omega can be everything but not cheaters.

i will always see omega as "The Top Dog" (or cat in ETL's case ) for the simple reason, the amount of wars and victories they've had,( i know some will say "what about TLE?", well tbh, anyone with loads of big name contacts can slap together an alliance of strong players, omega have worked hard to be were they are) and for there unsurpassed tactics and coordination and anything less than full representation of they're alliance on the forum is nothing short of criminal!
